Climbing out of Chama is an Antonito bound excursion passing the photographer's tree and the Chama River bridge.
Sony A7R : 28mm Sigma Widemax YS f/2.8
The Sigma Widemax was Sigmas first 28mm lens, circa 1970, and was notable for having a maximum f/2.8 aperture, most of it's contemporaries being restricted to f/3.5. Slightly to my surprise, it's a very good performer.
Leaving Chama, New Mexico on the second day of the plow operation on Cumbres Pass, we find Rotary "OY" passing the famous "Jukes tree" location just as the brilliant sun crests the distant mountains on March 1, 2020.

Now the City-centre tap for Skinners brewery, five of their ales plus guests (some from casks behind bar), lots of craft beers, west country ciders and several wines by the glass including country ones, no food (can bring your own), good cheerful service, dimly lit beamed bar with engaging mix of furnishings, sawdust on the floor, beer mats on walls and ceiling, some interesting 1920s bric-a-brac and life-size cutout of Betty Stogs, daily newspapers and free monkey nuts, upstairs room with table football; juke box.
No time to visit for a Betty Stogs today. That needs to wait for my next trip.
This fine building was once a millinery, dressmakers and ladies outfitters.

A contestant in the ROBORUMBLE 3000 who prefers to fight not with gloves, but with high-impact hand guards which he swings out to mislead, or "juke" his opponents.
Built for the #DJOKEMSOCKEM contest. This MOC was hell to finish, but I'm happy I made it just in time for the contest. Best of luck to everybody participating!!! ^-^

The eastbound morning excursion out of Chama for Osier passes the famous smoke blasted Juke’s Tree on their way East.
We only had Juke for about three and a half years but he ruled the house. Yesterday morning, he experienced some type of seizure as if he was trying to throw up but could not and had a raspy sound in his breathing, something like asthma. We took him to the vet and he was diagnosed as having leukemia. The vet gave him a shot that was supposed to make his breathing easier and we brought him home. At nine thirty last evening, he went into convulsions and died. His passing has left a huge void in our hearts, as he was a very special kitty. It never ceases to amaze me how people can become so attached to their animals.
