Winners of UK's biggest street music competition announced
Sunday 4 September
Clarissa from Lewisham has been crowned Gigs Champion 2016, following a five month search to find the countries best busker. The singer beat acts from across the UK to take top honours in the Grand Final of Gigs, the UK's biggest street music competition. Gigs is the Mayor of London’s annual search for the best young musicians, London’s busiest locations were treated to over 800 live performances this summer. Today’s final at Westfield Stratford City saw 12 of them, as chosen by music industry insiders and the public, compete in two categories, before the overall winner was decided by the judging panel.
