Today, standing with supporters and family at a press conference at the Ohio Statehouse, Franklin County Probate Court Judge Eric Brown announced his candidacy for Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court. Judge Brown was introduced by Governor Ted Strickland.
“For the Ohio Supreme Court to be effective, it needs an effective Chief Justice like Judge Brown,” said Governor Ted Strickland. “I asked Judge Brown to run for Chief Justice because he has both the legal scholarship and the management experience needed to lead the Court. From his days as a school board president, to his years as a small businessman, to his tenure in the Attorney General’s office and as a judge, Eric Brown has the skills and life experience necessary to be Ohio’s next Chief Justice.”
Judge Eric Brown said, “Ohio needs a Chief Justice who brings to the court a viewpoint that challenges the thinking of the other justices. I will add the balance needed so that the court more accurately reflects the people it serves. I will also bring to the court a lifetime of public service, as well as an understanding of the struggles facing ordinary Ohioans and how the law and the courts impact their everyday lives. Regular, hardworking Ohioans deserve a voice at the helm of the Ohio Supreme Court, and I will be that voice.”

Built in 1912 by "Judge" Thomas Fitzgerald Porter and his wife Wilhelmina, the home was located on property that once stretched from Second Street to Bayou Amulet. The Blunt Lodge Hall, an existing building already located on the property, was carefully dismantled piece by piece so that materials could be used for the construction of the house which took only 3 months to build at a total cost of $1,500.
Judge Porter died in 1928 leaving the house to his wife, Wilhelmina, who died in 1935. She passed the house on to her daughter Louisa Elizabeth "Betty" Porter, who lived here until her death in 1962. Betty's two brothers and a sister sold the house the following year to the Charles E. Kirsh family. It remained in that family for two generations before it was purchased in 1987 by the Rachals. In 1987, Mark and Sharon Rachal began a monumental restoration project on the house and in 1994 the current owner totally redecorated the interior and landscaped the grounds. In 1995 the house was opened to the public for the first time on the Natchitoches Historic Foundation's annual Fall Pilgrimage.
In June of 1996 the house was opened as the "Judge" Porter House Bed and Breakfast. The Bed and Breakfast features four bedrooms with two parlors and a Guest House.
The architectural style of the house is eclectic, using styles common for the Turn of the Century. The two story gallery which wraps around two sides of the house suggests a Queen Anne influence, while the colossal columns Judge Porter House as it appears today resting on brick pillars suggest Colonial Revival.
Located in the heart of the National Historic District, the house is embraced with lofty live oak trees planted by the original owner, Judge Porter.
Just over 3,000 square feet, there are 33 windows in this house with 15 over 8 feet in height. These windows were commonly used as passageways onto the gallery. The ceilings are 11.5 feet and there are 5 fire places. The floors, which are all original to the house, are heart pine.

Our Special Guest Judges are Nicole Presscot (bratzmoviemake928) and Myra (Lу∂iα.Thє.Doℓℓу.Nєr∂) !
You guys had a 60s inspired shoot with a Beauty and editorial shot!
This week is the toghest week yet as it will decide the Top 3 Girls! it is not going to be easy, but lets begin with Lucie.
Bridget- I love your photos. they could run in the same spread and it would look great. i think your face is amazing in both and your working your garments.
Macie- You i think are finding your brand. this fresh faced beauty is something that is consistent in all your work. im worried though that we are not seeing diversity in your look.
Masha- You know i love, you are so of the momment. i think you are great in both these pictures. you do need to be careful though that your signature look does not transfer as "one note". But i love the Bridget Bardoe look and it looks bery beautiful
Nicole- in the full shot I am liking the staring up from under your bangs. Your face looks fierce but I wish that you added some movement in your body. Maybe you could have even leaned more against the pillar. in your beauty photo Your eyes look great. You look like an ice queen and it works for this photo. However, this goes for both the close up and the full body photos, I feel like this is the same look that you give in all of your photos. Are you just a one trick pony?
Myra- She's headstrong and beautiful in each of the pictures. There's nothing wrong I can pick with them!
Gabrielle
Bridget- Just when i thought you had reached your potencial, you keep growing. Your full body and beauty shot are, amazing. these are your strongest photos to date! Your body is amazing and your selling that look for all its worth
Macie- I think you have the gift of making clothes look expensive. i have never seen you make a garment look cheap or inexpensive and that is somehing truely special. Great face too, your the full package now!
Masha- one for me is a cover, and the other is the opening shot in a 6 page spread. i think you have been showing us a range in the competition. you can do it all it seems now and that really impresses me.
Nicole- I like this full body shot of you. I can see the movement as well as your eyes looking off to the side. Those are all great elements in a photo that tell a story. your beauty shot made me say Wow! What a striking face! I love your eyes because they really capture my attention. This photo would make me stop and stare if I was flipping through a magazine.
Myra- I felt she held a substantial balance of power and elegancy in all of her pics this week. At the beginning of the competition, she was sort of the girl who faded in with the others, but lately she is really starting to outshine everyone. Very impressed with her work!
Rachel
Bridget- we are down to the top 4... to slip now and deliver these photos is so tragic. im in shock that you slid back right now when we are so down to the wire.
Macie- You had my favorite styling of the day. it was so chic. when i look at these picture i see just how much potencial you DID NOT use. what happened?
Masha- im glad we got to see you with a different hair style, because you cant be a model with only one look. i think you have been a favorite becausse of your physical appeal, but when we slick back your hair, and do a B&W shot, you lose your charm and speaciality.
Nicole- In this full body shot the shadows, to me, are what makes this photo come to life! Unfortunately, I can't say the same for you. Your pose is a very awkward stance. It is almost halfway between a slouch and a gingerbread man. It seems as if the accessories are wearing you while you should be the one wearing the accessories. Then when i go to the Beauty shot, I can't say that I am a fan of this shot either. The way the glasses are positioned make you look like an older librarian. I also wish that your eyes connected a bit more with the camera.
Myra- To be honest, the only shot I liked from her this week was the close-up. I had confidence Rachel could fight it out 'til the end, but in the last few weeks I've really started doubting that. She's an exotic beauty, no-doubt, but a model just can't afford to be falling flat in the semifinals.
Last but not least is Mei
Bridget- I enjoy your compositions. you had these mirrors and so many possibilities and things to play with, and i think you did ok. not bad not great, just ok. and a top model is anything BUT ok. not my favorite from you Mei.
Macie- What happend in your full body shot? are you waiting for a bus? this is beyond amatuer! i excpected to see a shang hi lil and beauty from you. but i dont know what to think
Masha- i like your beauty photo. the eyes tell so many stories and the styling on you looks great. i think you can wear a lot of different things and pull them off. you also seem to transform for each shoot which makes me curious as to what else you can do.
Nicole- Wow Mei. This really pains me to say this because I flipped through your portfolio and I really like your work and I think you are a very beautiful girl, but this photo is not doing you any justice. You look so bored in this shot. With a mirror as your prop, you could have done so much more, but you just leaned against it and gave a blank stare. I really expected more from you. While I like this beauty shot more than your full body shot, I think that you could have done more here as well. More eye contact would have been great, and since you were working with a mirror, you could have glanced at the lens through the mirror.
Myra- Loved her work this week, as I do every week. The shot I liked the least from her was the body shot, though. But, overall, I feel Mei is the only girl who has remained most consistent throughout the entire competition
Wow this is all over the board and i have no idea what we are going to do. this will not be easy but i will call you back when we have reached a desicion.

Jesus the Judge, Church of Saint Elias, Bucharest Romania.
"Sorrow for wrong-doing is but one step towards reform and the very easiest step. The next and great step required by wisdom is the test of our sincerity, --namely, reformation. To this end we are placed under the stress of circumstances. Temptation bids us repeat the offence, and woe comes in return for what is done. So it will ever be, till we learn that there is no discount in the law of justice and that we must pay "the uttermost farthing." The measure ye mete "shall be measured to you again," and it will be full "and running over."

MOC Custom. It's hard to see, but there's a badge on his jacket. I was thinking of re-painting the shoulder piece to be black in the middle then a gold square in the lower right to be the badge.

I painted this back in 2003. Randy, Paula and Simon all have changed a bit since then. Also, their comments are different now. If I painted this today, Randy would have to say "you were a little pitchy"!!
On this painting Randy says "You did your thing dawg!", Paula says "You really shined tonight. GOOD JOB!", and Simon says "If I'm being totally honest... That was ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL!"
Meet the judges Fergie,Angelina,Brittany,Ginger,Judy and Amalia!

I played Judge Gaffney in our high school production of Harvey my junior year.
Veta Louise Simmons: Judge Gaffney, is that all those doctors do in places like that — think about sex?
Judge Gaffney: I don't know.
Veta Louise Simmons: Because if it is they ought to be ashamed of themselves. It's all in their heads anyway. Why don't they get out and take long walks in the fresh air? Judge Gaffney walked everywhere for years, didn't you, Judge?
