Not a view that many people get to see! This is a provincial Scottish Sheriff Court, looking down from where the Judge (Sheriff) would sit.
This particular court is now closed. Photography in working Scottish courts is strictly prohibited except with special permission. There will be very few photos like this in existence.

The deity Yama was originally hIndu, and then Buddhist, and then just sort of bled into a lot of near and far-eastern traditions. In Japan, he is called "Enma."
Enma is the unforgiving judge of the dead. He is in charge of meteing out karmic punishment on those who deserve it - but not before, of course, asking them if they ever stopped to consider what they were doing. But he does show mercy if someone's karma is good
