Located at Majuli, the world’s largest river island, the island is formed by the River Brahmaputra and its tributaries.
Majuli is a beautiful amalgamation of nature and culture
Exploring the uncharted boundaries of Longwa village in Mon district, Nagaland.
A border between India and Myanmar, one village where everyone has two citizenship, the villagers don’t require a visa to cross the borders; in fact, they can roam freely in both countries.
We preach it ,animals practise it.:-)
I took this shot while driving through Kaziranga National Park on our way from Tezpur to Jorhat in Assam.The animals and birds were very far away but I have tried to capture this interesting scene.
If you concentrate,you can see a pair of rhinos to the left and a pair of wild buffaloes to the right of the shot.There is a mixed assortment of birds there.If you look very carefully just above the left rhino you might also spot a deer.All going about their business peacefully like mature people while we fight it out with each other on the basis of religion,colour,caste,class etc.:-)

This is G-ANTP (MSN 501), the prototype Twin Pioneer.
G-ANTP was unfortunately lost on 10 March 1960 during a demonstration flight at Jorhat Rowriah Airport, Assam, in northeast India. The aircraft stalled while climbing on one engine, yawed left and dived into the ground killing two of the three occupants, including the Scottish Aviation pilot Capt David Templeton.

The capital of Nagaland in northeast India, the town of Kohima was founded in 1878 when the British Empire established its headquarters of the then Naga Hills. Kohima is an anglicized name given by the British who could not pronounce the original name Kewhima or Kewhira, which comes from the Kewhi flowers that are to be found all around in the mountains.

This species looks similar to the great egret but smaller in size with neck length a little less than body length, has a slightly domed head, and a shorter and thicker bill.

Vijayawada International airport ,India...Photo taken by Andreas Fotopoulos 03 April 2012.First flight 1987.On Monday 03 June 2019 the Indian Air Force Antonov An-32 transport plane was reported missing with 13 on board. The aircraft took off from Jorhat at 12:27 local time. Last radio contact was at 13:00 hours.The wreckage of aircraft was spotted on June 11, 16 km from Lipo at an approximate elevation of 12000 feet by a Mil Mi-17 helicopter. The accident location is about 34 km WNW of the destination.The aicraft was written off and 13 people were killed.

The Konyaks, an isolated ethnic group defined culturally by headhunting and elaborate facial tattoos, live in Nagaland's forest interiors.
Tattooing and headhunting were inextricably linked rituals. In Konyak society, the various tattoos worn by a person conveyed his or her status, position, stage of life, and achievements.
Tattoos defined the men's rites of passage from boyhood to manhood, as well as their victories in battle.

The Naga, indigenous Naga tribe from remote Nagaland, India. A mountainous state in northeast India, bordering Myanmar. An anthropologists believe they were migrants from southern China or Mongolia.
Almost 98% of population a Christian. The tribes of Nagaland celebrate their festivals every year on December, the aim of the festival is to revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland and display its extravaganza and traditions.
