During day one you will restore and sharpen a vintage axe back to a useable condition, yours to keep. Every January, volunteers and community partners gather to conduct a snapshot of people who are experiencing homelessness. The PIT Count is an important opportunity for communities to better understand and address homelessness. The Governor and three of his Cabinet Secretaries met at the Wilmington launch site as teams, organized by Housing Alliance Delaware, conducted counts statewide.

Joined the Great Saunter on 05.03.14, the one day each year when the members of Shorewalkers walk around the perimeter of Manhattan, covering 32 miles of the city's coastal edge. The walk started with a registration at the Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan but I was about 10 minutes late and joined the group in Battery Park City. These were the pics I took while walking along the west side of Manhattan, the last pics of the west side were taken at Inwood Hill Park where we had a brief stop for lunch.
Joined by over 1,000 business, nonprofit, education, and government leaders, as well as young adults from across the country, the Governor spoke at the 2015 National Opportunity Summit, which was hosted by Opportunity Nation and co-convened by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Business Roundtable, United Way Worldwide, and Jobs for America’s Graduates. The Summit was the first national opportunity event to focus on issues such as youth employment, skills training, and meaningful cross-sector education and career pathways on both the state and federal levels.

Every year master clay artist Sudhir Pal and his team will turn the Ulsoor Bengali Association premises into his workshop for a period of three months. They will be modelling innumerous models of Ganesha, Viswakarma, Durga, Laxmi, Kali & Saraswati within this span of time.Catching them at work is quite a beautiful experience.
