Half of a short stack. As served at The Dish in La Cañada, CA, along with a side order of maple pork sausage from our community's Schreiner's Meat Market.
Circa 1990. I was working two jobs to pick up the slack of Julie having off so we were both very tired. If I could have been a stay at home Dad I would have jumped at the chance since there is never enough time to spend with your children when they are with you. I pursued zero friendships for the first ten years of Andrews life since time with him and later Dan were always preferable to me. Sorry folks if I ignored ya.

Post-fishing with dope eats at Lolo's Seafood Shack. They also showed love for doge by bringing out a container of water and an extra stool.
The birthplace of johnnycakes was built around 1866. It is the only continually operating grist mill in Rhode Island.

Didn't have the right kind of corn meal (wanted coarse, had fine), but got an amusing kind of johnnycrepe instead...
St Ali, Melbourne: Ruby's Ginger Bits, which is rhubarb and ginger compote on... what appears to johnnycakes. These buttermilk pancakes are so real deal they pony up a pone-esque consistency, yet the fluffness of being brings them down to earth and into your mouth, happily. The compote threatens to erase all memory of maple syrup from your memory, no matter how A+++++++. On the menu, the crème fraîche is listed as "optional." No, it isn't.
