I didn't take this photo, just did a little 'post-production' on it. The original was taken by my daughter or her boyfriend who are currently helping out at an Australian wildlife sanctuary in Western Australia, where it is the rainy season, as you can tell from Joel's plumage. Joel is a kookaburra. There is a second kookaburra in the sanctuary, named Ethan :)

This was one of the happiest weeks of my life, even with my panic attacks and all the crying, shyness, trembling, which almost made me give up entering that room, to show my most bizarre works to him and hear the best compliments I ever heard, coming from a genius like him, was trully worth.
Joel
After our lunchtime swim we walked through The Meadows and diverted to the bandstand, as we heard someone playing a Paolo Lutini song. We stopped and Joel explained he simply relaxed by playing and singing.
He had an audience of three, and declined any busking money or coffee. He played a good mix of country and folk/rock although others may say differently. His voice was both killing and soothing in one.
Joel explained that he had some time out from lectures in the nearby college, and just liked to play and sing. He added that his grandad passed away two years ago, and that he was inspired by his playing. He’d been learning the guitar since his grandad passed away.
Joel was pleased to be added to my 100 strangers in Tavistock project.
Do look out for his name and listen to his music as he plans to record.

Joel Miles "smokie" with the Intercity Bluesband playing in Williamson Square. Liverpool.
A great blues band they are too.
Joel is from Illinois and when he came out to the coast I took him to the Outer Banks of NC. He used lots of lotion but still burned.
