Painted the pack and the hair, as well as some other details. All I have to do now is paint the other small things, paint the flame thrower and gun, add some final dirt and decay to him and Joel will be finished! Then it's onto Ellie!
Joel - a friend and a student at George Mason University - got caught in the down pour on Saturday in Williamsburg Virginia (5 inches of rain in three hours). We were at his Grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary Party.

My Portland family & I have been invited to spend the afternoon at my Flickr friend Joel's and his lovely bride Kathleen's house boat. We had a most fabulous time !
Joel is my first Flickr buddy since 2008. We've met a few times while I am in town and it's always such a pleasure to see him & Kathleen.
Joel checking for phone messages after we had been swimming in the river on the backside of the farm.
Using the new scanner to preserve some precious shots of my kids- this is Joel, oldest son and middle child, when he was a little guy!
Spent a few weeks in and around Vancouver.
While I was there I shot my friend Joel for his new album.
The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),
oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

Joel is plastic. He created "presences" real characters always surprising and beautiful ... to file to your windows in every strategic crossroads of the city, behind our cars ... short everywhere for "surprise" each of us in our urban torpor ...

I think this is the most famous bridge of The Netherlands photography wise!
Joel photographed it so many times and when I finally drove over it this weekend I had to stop and take some photos myself.
It was intimidating and fun at the same time.
It was so cold!
(in fact... just as cold as on christmas!)
But so worth it!
The sky was kinda dull for long exposures, but the water makes up for it!
I've had an awesome weekend in Oostkapelle and we already made plans to go back there in 4 weeks :)
Have a great week!

my buddy since secondary school, we used to take the bus down Orchard Road to burger king, pore over maths problems, check out the chicks, and then walk home together.
that was when he still lived down the street, now he lives pretty faraway. though things have changed, our friendship remains.
