Joe Brooks (singer-songwriter from the parish of Southampton) played Houston's Warehouse Studio last night. Its the second time Kim and myself have seen him in town. What a hard working outfit. Night after night grafting away in small venues trying to build a successful career. On Wednesday he played Austin; Thursday Houston, and Friday will be Dallas followed by Oklahoma City on Saturday etc etc. THAT is hard work. In Houston, it was a 175 person venue with less than 100 followers present.....so kudos to him and the band for all their efforts.

American comedian Joe E. Brown (1891-1973) is dearly remembered for his portrayal as Osgood Fielding III in Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot (1959), in which he utters the famous punchline "Well, nobody's perfect". With his amiable screen persona, comic timing, and enormous elastic-mouth smile, Brown was one of the most popular American comedians in the 1930s and 1940s, with successful films like A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), Earthworm Tractors (1936) and Alibi Ike (1935).

Actually, I think this is the most faithful interpretation of a 3 3/4-inch Joe into 12-inch form. And for that reason alone, this is now my favorite of the Real American Hero 12-inch Joes!
