Pometia pinnata J. R. Forst. & G. Forst. Sapindaceae. CN: [Malay - Kasai daun besar, Kayu sapi (Java), Matoa], Obahu (PNG), Megan, Taun. Native to China (Yunnan), Taiwan, Indian Subcontinent (Sri Lanka, Andaman, Nicobar, Indo-China, Malesia ecozone, Southwestern Pacific (Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Islands). Elsewhere naturalized (Hawaii, Micronesia, French Polynesia, New Caledonia). A medium-sized to fairly large tree up to 40 m tall, with bole up to 100 cm in diameter. Leaves with 3-13 pairs of leaflets having dentate margins, and alternate secondary veins ending in a tooth. Inflorescence and calyx often hairy. Human food and source of timber. Lesser fruits; sweet edible fruits. Plant now widely planted in urban landscaping.

Java Village has a steam table. You can see almost all the food. The food is pretty good, too, and very inexpensive.
In the front, from left to right, there's chicken curry and a fish dish. The next row back has spinach and a beef dish. The last row has eggplant and a soup that looks wonderful because it has corn on the cob in it.
