Jam Airport (KNR), some 290 km north-northeast of Doha, Qatar, and the city of Jam, in Bushehr Province, Iran are seen here from a Qatar Airways flight on the way home from a trip to Georgia. This shot brings back good memories: I flew an SE-3160 Alouette III helicopter supporting seismic oil exploration in rugged terrain beyond Jam in 1975.
Berry time of year is the best time of year. Since I only got 3 cups of gooseberries from our bush, I didn't get fancy. I made David Lebovitz's No Recipe jam (no need for lemon- these have plenty of pectin in them, and I added a little water when cooking down the berries) and what we didn't eat immediately went straight into the fridge.
The scone recipe is from Joy of Baking. Once I made them, there was no need for another scone recipe, ever.
These 3 are jam bottles, thinking of a way to recycle, thus turned them to be flower vases, though without gorgeous appearance, they are beautiful in my eyes :-)
Teaching myself to type, on a very similar typewriter, I remember that jamming was an ever-present threat.
And this is another "Rosaceae" fruit which had grown from a seed. The tree is covered in small blossoms but only a few fruit manage to survive. The fruit itself is a bit bitter and ripens very quickly but it makes a good jam.
In this case the photo was rotated by 90 degrees and tone mapped to highlight the yellow anthers.

This is some of the homemade jams that we made during the winter months from homegrown soft fruits we froze and foraged rose hips and elderflowers. The next batch of jams will be processed this week or next, but we now have a food mill will take the seeds out, so our raspberry jams will be seedless!

I keep a lot of jam on hand. I sometimes use it for my recipes.
A nice slice of bread and jam :)
