What do you do with all the chilly peppers we grow around here, you mix them with sugar and you flavoring of choice..;) Than you take them to festivals and sell them.

For Macro Mondays theme "Green", this is a partially sliced jalapeno chile. While this may be green, eat too much and your face will turn red!

My personal pixels.

I have fun with mugs, but my own has always been blond.

And yes. Speckled.

One of my favorite appetizers when I grill something is hollowed out jalapeno chiles filled with grated cheese. For Macro Mondays theme "say cheese". Also for 117 pictures in 2017, #85 a bite to eat.

Can't wait to use these in some sauces.

I guess it is the end of the season for jalapenos. The plants have wilted in the heat. The jalapenos have turned red...like a slow dance in a burning room...

Polaroid Week | Autumn 2022

Well, not cheesy enough really. It looks beautiful, is nice and soft if you can believe it ... and of course the jalapeños in there pack a punch. But, still not enough cheesiness for me....

It's a one day sourdough loaf. I think maybe why it is soft..plus..it really pouffed up .. but, It took alllllll day....

and, a fair bit of babysitting. Plus I made my life harder by mixing up a big enough batch of dough for two loaves ... and, I didn't want two plain ones... which meant grating cheese and chopping jalapeños... my hands were on fire.Yes, I know I could wear gloves if I had a pair around that were thin enough so that I could actually feel what I was doing...but, no... had to soldier on without. Then, of course I had to have it in two separate bowls...mix it differently, etc... I put the inclusions in after the second round of stretch and folds.... that was a ... hm...mmm ...let me think what it was. It was hard work dammit !! Just try including stuff in an already resistant dough.... there was a lot of trial and error and folding and squeezing and ..well, a lot of swearing too... but, I got it.

By the time it had risen it was way ahead of the plain guy....due to the 'vigour' with which I had to 'include' stuff I'm sure, as well as a bit of extra moisture from the jalapeños even though they were well drained and patted dry...

All told, I'm ecstatic with the loaf.... with the exception of it not tasting quite cheesy enough for me. I bet I could have sprinkled some grated cheese on top for the last few minutes of browning with the lid off the pot.

I purposely scored only deep enough to expose a nice belly ..no ear required for me. I prefer an earless loaf.

Oh, and.... the pot!! I do not own an oval Dutch Oven... and, decided batards are a better shape for slicing and using so had to get inventive. I was going to use a large casserole but, instead decided to try my turkey roasting pan.

It was perfect!!

Two layers of parchment ... middle shelf.....thin as the pan is compared to a Dutch Oven .... it turned out beautifully....

It has been in the upper 90's here lately and I am dreaming of cool weather.

Letter J for my alphabet project. I was going to have it be "jump" but it is raining again so no trampoline shots today.

Not all tasty snack's are sweet. Fresh Jalapeños awaken your senses and brighten your day. Spicey tastey treat for MacroMonday.

For the Macro Monday's theme of "Complementary Colours" I had a few ideas but in the end I decided to go with Red and Green Jalapenos.

I work a 14 hour day on Saturday nights and on the way home I will buy a few items from a supermarket and also something to eat.

One thing I buy more often than not is a Lasagne ready meal and I cook it in the oven for 35 minutes. After it has been cooking for 20 minutes I like to add some Jalapenos and return it to the oven for the final 15 minutes.

I usually use either the Red or Green Jalapenos but for this theme I decided to use both so I could have them as my subject for this week.

These are great with Cheese on Toast as well.

I added this to my Pareidolia album as the two main Jalapenos do seem to have facial like qualities.

This sandwich was so big I needed a knife & fork to finish it.

8. Tastes Bad

This is one of the signs of fall. Temperatures changing from 29 in the morning to 80 the next day. Air conditioning on one day, heat the next, still it's my favorite time of the year!

I found these with the pickled eggs in the Amish Market -Dienner's Bulk Food & Candy. Never tried them!

In honor of my favorite color and this week's theme. Green!

One and your smokin...it really warms the tummy

I do like them hot! Jalapeno peppers, stuffed with with cream cheese, shredded nacho cheese, parmesan and some of the seeds - baked for about 10 minutes - mmm mmm good. What's your favourite pepper?

These are jalapeno chiles, sliced in half and filled with shredded cheese. They should then be baked (use parchment paper to line the pan) until the cheese bubbles over. Then it is easy to scoop the overflowing cheese onto the plate. They make great appetizers or snacks. As always with Jalepenos, the heat level can vary considerably, so I always scoop out _all_ of the seeds and membranes (which is where most of the heat is). This batch turned out to be quite mild though.

(49/365) For 119 Pictures in 2019, #15 "Beginning with the letter J", these are jalapeno chiles, sliced in half and filled with shredded cheese, then baked until the cheese bubbles over. They were baked on a sheet of parchment paper, easy to scoop the overflowing cheese onto the plate. These are actually leftovers from the previous day. A batch of 6 or 8 makes nice appetizers for several days - they are excellent just reheated in the microwave, as these were. See the previous photo for them in the raw state.

One of the most delicious meals there is! Pinto beans, cornbread, onion, and jalapenos. Salud!
