13 doesn't seem like such an unlucky number when it's 13 jacabunnies.

As winter's quiet hush settles throughout the Strangeland woods with little ones tucked in to their snugly bunkers for a snoozy hibernation, the neighbours make the long trek to the snowy garden, assembling for the annual "Ice Kickers Ball" and convention.
Doigt of the Thimbleheads arrived from his delegation located down the lane near the home of Larry the goat. The Jacabobs found him clad in the traditional rubber Thimblehead garb of his clan of Phylangecots. He was nearly frozen, ice hanging off his schnoz so the Jacabobs brought him in for tea.
Jacabunny Elver has lived here awhile... didn't want him to feel left out any longer, so had to do an updated family photo.

Nanook finally arrived this morning from the land at the far end of the pond at the crack of dawn to herald the news to the Jacabobbaloos that the annual Harvest "Duck and Cover" ball would be hosted this year by the Nang-er Dang-ers. A louder cheer from the garden denizens would have been heard if his timing has been a bit better. None the less, rejoicing commenced and we hustled him in for a hot bath and a full English breakfast after his arduous journey.
Nanook stands 3 inches tall, made from the wool of the nearly naked four-legged nudist colony of pink skinned beasties who are still giggling like school girls as they romp in the pasture after the spring shearing, the sheep we call Bernice and Evelynn.
Nang-er Dang-ers are distant cousins of the Jacabobbaloos. Generally long necked and nosey, gregarious too with great attention to details often missed by the Jacabobs which makes them wonderful hosts of the annual ball...and excellent nut counters in the off season.

The coldest day all year. Windchill advisories etc...I learned something new though that -40C and -40F are exactly the same temperature. Anyway, I have digressed.
I went to the mail and found this wonderful package from Pia in Sweden! I had to thaw it out a bit first but it was so worth the wait. It was filled with a variety of wonderful teas and caramels of every flavor. I'd show you the inside of the box but....well...I've already eaten HALF of them!
I don't read Swedish so of course I can't quite decipher what flavor they are unless I taste them! That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
And look at the photo! Beautiful, of Swedish cakes and Jacabobs. A keeper forever. And little cards too! Oh, Pia! Thank you :o)
Now I'm off to brew tea to keep my body as warm as my heart. <3

There was a commotion at the far end of the garden in the early morning hours, about the time when the cows came home. Bernice and Evelyn the sheep gave a bleat as they were awoken from a warm wooly snooze when Bighorn Jacabob the cousin from the other side of the hill came tromping through the garden for a visit.
Like Jacabobs this Bighorn cousin enjoys dewy fresh mornings, a nice cup of tea accompanied by a wee smidgeon of jam on a muffin. Unlike Jacabobs, the Bighorn would like the muffin to be followed by a second course of alphalpha hay flakes and a salt lick.(it's an aquired taste he developed from hanging out with his deer friends)
Bighorn stands 3.5 inches tall including his horn. He has a cute little mini-button nose. A lovely sheep from the next farm over the hill donated the soft nut brown wool for his body and horn. His face is made of lovely creamy peach wool. Bighorn is formed by the needle felting method which means poking and poking a lump of wool with a very sharp barbed needle until his shape appears. This has made him strong and nearly fearless.
He hates kitties for obvious reasons but plays well with Jacabunnies, Feezles and Nurblettes :o)

and really, i believe there is pure, untainted happiness in the uttermost sweetness of bobbaloo butts.

Phyl of the Thimbleheads was the first to arrive from his delegation located down the lane near the home of Larry the goat. The Jacabobs found him clad in the traditional rubber Thimblehead garb of his clan of Phalangecots. He was nearly frozen, ice hanging off his schnoz so the Jacabobs brought him in for tea.
Phyl stands a wopping 2.75 inches tall. His removable hat is made from a rubber finger cot, a traditional head gear among the Thimbleheads. He's made of fleshy peach pink wool and made by the needle felting method, a series of thousands of pokes with a special barbed felting needle until his form appears. He comes from a long history of bankers and money counters, a group who don't seem to mind the pokes and the death dealing blows one little bit.
Note: Kitties and Thimbleheads don't mix well.
march 15, 2011 - 008 - for some reason there's a whole lot of sleeping going on with kismet and jojo, perhaps it's that time of the year?
