Quite a trip.
The gravestone of Robert Emberson , late of Copeland Isle, Donaghadee Parish Church. There is a small graveyard on Copeland island (the biggest of the three islands off the coast of Donaghadee) so I wonder why Robert was buried here in Donagahdee and not back on the island?

I posted a picture a while ago of this family as they set off and said in the text accompanying that picture, this boat would take one minute to cross this river whereas the islanders on this raft would take a half hour or so.
I was intrigued by the frenetic pace we in the west have, even though we were on a cruise and relaxing - and even here our boat was racing to get back to our cruise ship to drop off the passengers aboard and return for the next load. Some people were agitated they had to wait for around an hour or so before their turn came.
Here are these islanders, quite content to head off across this river at their own pace, a pace that us in the West could well take advantage of - relaxation as an ultimate way of life!!!
These folk eventually made it - I must admit I was a bit worried at one stage as to whether they would get caught up in the launches as they zoomed backwards and forth. I guess they are used to this.
I do love the stability of our craft and how low and basic their craft is - both safe in their own environments!!!
Thanks for your visits and comments and may God continue to bless your journey . . . love and blessings from Clive and Rosey xxxxxxxx
I went to Fiji two weeks ago, while leaving the island from the day trip, I've snapped this image of an islander who was helping us with our boat. He is such a friendly person, same as many other Fijians we've encountered.
'A good number' down at Gatwick in 1974 was this Israeli registered Britten-Norman Islander.
4X-AYV may well have been in the process of being delivered back to the UK as it took up the registration G-AXHE on 12th March 1974

Saw the whole fleet of these... apart from SIA. This is the only one I got pics off.... same as last year... and that was SID too!!
Look up and it looks like an Islander flying over.
