Bragg, Saturday. During the ceremony, youth take the Athlete’s Oath and watch the Golden
Knights jump onto the field. After the first soccer kick, baton pass, baseball throw, softball throw
and lacrosse toss, teams depart to game fields for the first games of the season.

Soldiers participated in a monthly climbing event with the Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers at the Triangle Rock Club, Friday. Soldiers were able to take a class from the Triangle staff about lead belaying and bouldering. They were then able to put their new skills into practice by climbing throughout the building.

Iron Mike is a spring developed by James Longmire, who originally settled in this area. The stone walls were constructed in 1920. The brownish red color of the spring water and coating on the ground are the result of iron-rich minerals precipitating as the spring water cools.
