Iris germanica 'Poesie'

5-24-15, Iris at Mid America Iris Gardens, Salem Oregon.

For my cousin Kathy who loves flowers, especially Iris.

2009/04 - In my garden

We stopped in Parkes today and walked down to the shops after setting up the van. Golden hour was very flattering to the spring gardens on the way

I believe this is an iris. The picture was taken at the Portland Japanese Garden.

I didn't see that interesting bit of orange until I looked @ my photo on the computer.

My spring pictures seem to be mainly irises, pansies and bluebonnets, but that is what I'm seeing the most. I will always love the iris because it is such a beautiful flower. This shot was taken midday so there was a lot of sun light, but the colors still show up well.

I photographed this one following a light rain at our former residence in Marietta, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Since I have proclaimed February to be Iris month for our painting group, I decided to put up two more iris for members to paint, if they like. This may be downloaded by members for their use.

Iris 'Sikh' (Baker, 1926), Thanks, Jane!

Iris 'Late Lilac' bloomed in May but I waited for identification before posting.

Some flowers just bring joy to the yard.

Growing in our front yard - Broadmoor Neighborhood, Little Rock, Arkansas

I am not so much into flowers, but I have seen some splendid examples at Flickr. So I dedicate this flower to baby7, alfarman, Emily Quinton and Lucy Huntzinger. I like the delicate arteries and alsothe background wall is not bad.

Semis (Offsprings)

It's a 2004 cross. i was a total novice then, i don't know what i did, or didn't do, but only one seedling survived the winter and the wet spring, and it was EITJE! Piece of cake: i didn't have to decide who would live and who would die,( which is the name of the game when you hybridize...).

EITJE means 'little egg', and that fits the colour range it has, but there is a second meaning to this word in Dutch, it also means 'easy', 'easily done'. So EITJE it was!

Pod & Pol fertile.

'Eitje'is available at Marianne Joosten's, in The Netherlands:

www.kwekerij-joosten.nl/catalogus/catalogus.aspx?ProduktS...

and in France, at Jean-Luc Gestreau's : www.ferme-des-iris.com/Catalogue/Creations-LOIC-TASQU.html
