Thinking of the archaeological richness of recent years for Bronze Age and Iron Age Britian at the wetland site of Must Farm, spindles and stone weights, along with fragments of fabric all seem to form a "hearth and home" image as one of the many activities that women worked on back then. Now in 2022 Michigan, impressionistically of artists and market visitors, it seems that women far outnumber men in taking interest in weaving and making things of beauty and utility from fiber.
