ENG: The futuristic suburban train station „Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz“ on the edge of the beautiful Leipzig city centre. It also bears the nickname "Square of the Peaceful Revolution" and is intended to commemorate the historical events of 1989. It was built as part of the Leipzig City Tunnel project and opened on 15 December 2013, enabling passengers to travel directly by rail from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof to the city centre.
The station Leipzig Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz is about 20 m underground and has a 140 m long island platform. There are two entrances, north and south of the Martin-Luther-Ring. The staircases, escalators and the two elevators create a dense structure. So that the transparent S-Bahn station with the tidy platform speaks a clear design language. Methodically important part of this station is the extensive restraint in the use of simple, clearly readable elements as well as the glass bricks in the walls and ceilings of the prefabricated elements.
GER: Der futuristische S-Bahnhof "Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz" am Rande der schönen Leipziger Innenstadt. Dieser trägt auch den Beinamen „Platz der friedlichen Revolution“ und soll damit an die historischen Ereignisse des Jahres 1989 erinnern. Er wurde im Rahmen des Projekts Leipziger Stadt Tunnel gebaut und am 15. Dezember 2013 eröffnet, so dass die Fahrgäste direkt mit der Bahn vom Leipziger Hauptbahnhof in die Innenstadt fahren können.
Der Bahnhof Leipzig Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz liegt etwa 20 m unter der Erde und verfügt über einen 140 m lange Insel-Bahnsteig. Es gibt zwei Eingänge, nördlich und südlich des Martin-Luther-Rings. Durch die Treppenanlagen, Rolltreppen und den beiden Aufzügen wird ein verdichtetes Bauwerk erstellt. So das die transparente S-Bahn Station mit dem aufgeräumten Bahnsteig eine klare Design Sprache spricht. Methodisch wichtiger Teil dieser Station ist die weitgehende Zurückhaltung in der Verwendung einfacher, klar ablesbarer Elemente sowie die Glasbausteinen in den Wänden und Decken der Fertigteilelemente.
ENG: The two lighthouses of Kap Arkona with the international order number C 1062 are located at Kap Arkona on the Wittow peninsula at the northern tip of the island of Rügen and is also a big tourist hotspot.
The smaller right tower is the older one and dates back to 1827, built in brick according to plans of the Prussian Oberbaudeputation. The design is attributed to Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The 22.45 m high tower has a height of fire of 66 m above zero and was taken out of service in April 1905. It is the second oldest lighthouse on the Baltic Sea coast after the Travemünde lighthouse. Today it houses a museum and a registry office.
The bigger left tower is from 1902 and was put into operation in 1905. It is 35 m high and has a height of fire of 75 m above zero. It is built of bricks and stands on an octagonal granite base. A small special feature is the publicly accessible viewing platform, which is about 28 metres high and accessible via 175 steps.

GER: Die zwei Leuchttürme von Kap Arkona mit der internationalen Ordnungsnummer C 1062 befinden sich am Kap Arkona auf der Halbinsel Wittow an der Nordspitze der Insel Rügen und ist auch ein großer Touristen Hotspot.
Der kleinere rechte Turm ist der ältere und stammt aus dem Jahr 1827. Dieser wurde nach Plänen der preußischen Oberbaudeputation in Backsteinbauweise erbaut. Der Entwurf wird Karl Friedrich Schinkel zugeschrieben. Der 22,45 m hohe Turm hat eine Feuerhöhe von 66 m über Null und wurde im April 1905 außer Dienst gestellt. Er ist nach dem Travemünder Leuchtturm der zweitälteste Leuchtturm an der Ostseeküste. Heute beherbergt er ein Museum sowie ein Standesamt.
Der größere linke Turm stammt aus dem Jahre 1902 und wurde 1905 in Betrieb genommen. Er ist 35 m hoch und hat eine Feuerhöhe von 75 m über Null. Er ist aus Ziegelsteinen errichtet und steht auf einem achteckigen Granitsockel. Eine kleine Besonderheit ist die in etwa 28 Meter Höhe und über 175 Stufen erreichbare Öffentliche freigegebene Aussichtsplattform.

ENG: The good old Justitia says hello in the atrium of the Berlin district court in Tiergarten!
The criminal court Moabit in the neo-baroque Still from 1906 in the Turmstraße is the largest contiguous court complex in criminal cases in Europe and accommodates beside the district court Tiergarten, the criminal and execution chambers of the regional court Berlin also the public prosecutor's office Berlin. The district attorney's office is housed in an annex. Far more than 1,500 people work in the criminal court.
The Moabit Criminal Court is one of the most important buildings of the Wilhelminian era in terms of architectural history. With its castle-like dimensions, impressive design and magnificent staircase, the courthouse caused a sensation.
The complex of the listed Criminal Court is supplemented to the east by the star-shaped remand prison, which was built in 1875 and is thus the oldest part of the entire complex. This is connected with secret passages to the courtrooms.

Das Kriminalgericht Moabit im neobarocken Still von 1906 in der Turmstraße ist der größte zusammenhängende Gerichtskomplex in Strafsachen in Europa und beherbergt neben dem Amtsgericht Tiergarten, den Straf- und Strafvollstreckungskammern des Landgerichts Berlin auch die Staatsanwaltschaft Berlin. Die Amtsanwaltschaft ist in einem Nebengebäude untergebracht. Weit mehr als 1.500 Menschen arbeiten im Kriminalgericht.
Das Kriminalgericht Moabit gehört zu den architekturgeschichtlich bedeutendsten Bauten der wilhelminischen Ära. Mit seinen schlossähnlichen Ausmaßen, der imposanten Gestaltung und der prachtvollen Treppenhalle erregte das Gerichtsgebäude großes Aufsehen.
Der Komplex des denkmalgeschützten Kriminalgerichts wird im Osten ergänzt durch das sternförmige Untersuchungsgefängnis, das im Jahre 1875 errichtet wurde und damit der älteste Teil der Gesamtanlage ist. Dieser ist mit Geheimgängen zu den Gerichtssälen verbunden.

ENG: The Park Inn by Radisson Wismar is located directly at the old harbour in the street "Alter Holzhafen 28" and within a short walking distance from the city centre. The hotel is a comfortable and easily accessible starting point for exploring the city. The hotel has an 80-space car park for which a fee is charged. But free parking is - still - available directly in front of the hotel. You can see the modern staircase of the hotel, which is located directly next to the lobby.
The Hanseatic city of Wismar, with a population of about 42,800, is located on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at the southern end of Wismar Bay, which is protected by the island of Poel. It is the sixth largest city and the largest of the 18 medium-sized centers of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with a wonderful large historic old town with associated harbor. Here was also our hotel Radisson for our short trip.

GER: Das Park Inn by Radisson Wismar liegt direkt am alten Hafen in der Straße „Alter Holzhafen 28“ und in geringer Gehweite vom Stadtzentrum. Das Hotel ist ein komfortabler und gut zu erreichender Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungstouren. Das Hotel verfügt über einen kostenpflichtigen 80 Plätze Parkplatz. Aber direkt vor dem Hotel kann - noch - gratis geparkt werden. Zu sehen ist das moderne Treppenhaus des Hotels, dieses sich direkt neben der Lobby befindet.
Die Hansestadt Wismar mit etwa 42.800 Einwohnern liegt an der Ostseeküste Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns am südlichen Ende der durch die Insel Poel geschützten Wismarer Bucht. Sie ist die sechstgrößte Stadt und das größte der 18 Mittelzentren des Landes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mit einer wunderbaren großen historischen Altstadt mit dazugehörigen Hafen. Hier lag auch unser Hotel Radisson für unseren Kurztrip.

ENG: The "Pindarplatz" is a vantage point where there is nothing special to see. The castles are not to be seen from here. There are also no benches. One can look down only from far above on the wonderful turquoise Alpsee. But that's what a circular trail is all about, of course. It is pure nature! The small rock group is used also gladly by young people as springboard into the lake, as we could experience it live.
So, if you still have some time after the castle tour, then take the circular path around the lake again. It's worth it!
GER: Der „Pindarplatz“ ist ein Aussichtspunkt, an dem es nichts Besonders zu sehen gibt. Die Schlösser sind von hier nicht zu sehen. Bänke gibt es auch keine. Man kann lediglich von weit oben auf den wundervollen türkisfarbenen Alpsee herab blicken. Aber da drum geht es ja bei einen Rundweg natürlich auch. Es ist halt Natur Pur! Die kleine Felsengruppe wird auch gern von Jugendlichen als Sprungbrett in den See genutzt, wie wir es live mit erleben konnten.
Also, solltet ihr nach der Schlössertour noch etwas Zeit haben, dann nehmt euch noch mal den Rundweg um den See vor. Es lohnt sich!

ENG: A view into the depths! The connecting passerelle at the shopping center "Biesdorf Center" can be seen. The symmetry as well as geometry and the pattern of the brickwork still fascinate me today. ☻

GER: Ein Blick in die Tiefe! Zu sehen ist die Verbindungs-Passerelle am Einkaufszentrum „Biesdorf Center“. Die Symmetrie sowie Geometrie und das Muster des Mauerwerks faszinieren mich heute immer noch. ☻
Am 11. Dezember 2016 hatte ich dieses Motiv schon einmal fotografiert mit dem „iPhone 6s+“ und nun knapp fünf Jahre späte eine Neuauflage mit dem „iPhone 11proMAX“.

ENG: The remains of the Ringer Colonnade at the City Palace
You can see the colonnade, the city castle and in the background the church of St. Nicholas.
At Steubenplatz the Marstall was originally completely connected by the Ringerkolonnade with the west wing of the Stadtschloss, but on the side of the Marstall one half is missing today in favour of the tram line running there. This colonnade, built in 1745/46 according to a design by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff, consisted of 14 pairs of columns and formed the boundary between the pleasure garden and the town. The total of 12 sculptures depicted six groups of wrestlers, five fencers and one slinger. The Wrestling Colonnade was destroyed about half its length during the British bombing of Potsdam on 14 April 1945.

Zu sehen ist die Kolonnade, das Stadtschloss sowie im Hintergrund die St. Nikolai-Kirche.
Am Steubenplatz war der Marstall durch die Ringerkolonnade mit dem Westflügel des Stadtschlosses ursprünglich vollständig verbunden, auf der Seite des Marstalls fehlt heute jedoch eine Hälfte zugunsten der dort verkehrenden Straßenbahnlinie. Diese 1745/46 nach einem Entwurf von Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff errichtete Kolonnade bestand aus 14 Säulenpaaren und bildete die Abgrenzung des Lustgartens zur Stadt. Die insgesamt 12 Bildwerke stellten sechs Gruppen Ringer, fünf Fechter und einen Schleuderer dar. Die Ringerkolonnade ist am 14. April 1945 beim britischen Bombenangriff auf Potsdam auf ungefähr der Hälfte ihrer Länge zerstört worden.

ENG: The Red City Hall is the seat of the Governing Mayor, the Senate Chancellery and the venue for meetings of the Berlin Senate. It is located at Rathausstraße 15 in the Mitte district. It was built from 1861 to 1871 according to plans by Hermann Friedrich Waesemann in round arch style as the seat of the Lord Mayor, the City Council and the City Council of Berlin. Its name is derived from the red brick façade.

GER: Das Rote Rathaus ist Sitz vom/der Regierenden Bürgermeister:in, der Senatskanzlei und Tagungsort des Senats von Berlin. Es befindet sich in der Rathausstraße 15 im Ortsteil Mitte. Errichtet wurde es von 1861 bis 1871 nach Plänen Hermann Friedrich Waesemanns im Rundbogenstil als Sitz des Oberbürgermeisters, der Stadtverordnetenversammlung und des Magistrats von Berlin. Seine Bezeichnung geht auf die rote Ziegelfassade zurück.

Now let's move on to the photo. You can see an exhibit from the Berlin Future Museum FUTURIUM. What exactly this exhibit is, I have unfortunately forgotten but maybe it knows one of you. I think it had something to do with atom. In any case, I was fascinated by this about 2 m in diameter circle with its figurines.

Kommen wir nun zum Foto. Zu sehen ist ein Ausstellungsstück aus dem Berliner Zukunfts Museum FUTURIUM. Um was es sich bei diesem Ausstellungsstück genau handelt, habe ich leider vergessen aber eventuell weiß es ja einer von euch. Ich glaube das es etwas mit Atom zu tun hatte. Auf jeden Fall hat mich dieser etwa 2 Meter im Durchmesser große Kreis fasziniert mit seinen Figürchen.

ENG: The island in Lake Schwerin with its marshy surroundings was already inhabited in Slavic times. Traces of a first castle complex point back to the 9th century. The Obotrite tribe settled here. In the Slavic language the place is called "zuarin", which means "place of animals" and probably indicates an area rich in game.
Schwerin Castle, built between 1843 and 1857, is located on the still existing island in Schwerin Lake and is today one of the most important buildings of historicism in Europe.
On an island, charmingly embedded in a picturesque lake and castle garden and park landscape that can be walked through free of charge, Schwerin Castle is one of the most important creations of romantic historicism in Europe. And with an entrance fee of just 8 or 9 euros, visitors to the palace can immerse themselves in a princely, feudal world.

GER: Die Insel im Schweriner See mit der sumpfigen Umgebung war bereits zu slawischen Zeiten besiedelt. Spuren einer ersten Burganlage weisen zurück bis ins 9. Jahrhundert. Hier siedelte der Stamm der Obotriten. In der slawischen Sprache heißt der Platz "zuarin", was soviel wie "Ort der Tiere" meint und wahrscheinlich auf ein wildreiches Gebiet hindeutet.
Das zwischen 1843 und 1857 errichtete Schloss Schwerin liegt auf der immer noch vorhandenen Insel im Schweriner See und gehört heutzutage zu den bedeutendsten Bauten des Historismus in Europa.
Auf einer Insel, reizvoll eingebettet in eine kostenlos begehbare malerische Seen- und Burggarten sowie Parklandschaft, zählt Schloss Schwerin zu den bedeutendsten Schöpfungen des romantischen Historismus in Europa. Und mit nur knapp 8 oder 9 Euro Eintritt, können die Schloss Besucher in eine fürstlich-feudale Welt eintauchen.

ENG: Rheinsberg Castle is located in the municipality of Rheinsberg, about 100 km northwest of Berlin in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin (Brandenburg). Situated on the eastern shore of Lake Grienerick, the castle is considered a prime example of the so-called Friderician Rococo and also served as a model for Sanssouci Palace. The moated castle was built by the "Bredow" family in 1566 and in the course of time passed to Frederick the Great, who had it rebuilt to its present state around 1740. Thus the crown prince experienced the happiest time of his life in Rheinsberg. His younger brother, Prince Heinrich of Prussia, subsequently created an important court of the Muses here and left a lasting impression on the palace and garden in the style of early classicism. In his "Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg" (Walks through the Mark of Brandenburg), Theodor Fontane set a literary monument to the town, and soon afterwards Kurt Tucholsky made Rheinsberg the charming fulfilment of carefree love. Even today, hardly any visitor can escape the charm of the place.

GER: Schloss Rheinsberg liegt in der Gemeinde Rheinsberg, etwa 100 km nordwestlich von Berlin im Landkreis Ostprignitz-Ruppin (Brandenburg). Das am Ostufer des Grienericksees gelegene Schloss gilt als Musterbeispiel des sogenannten Friderizianischen Rokokos und diente auch als Vorbild für Schloss Sanssouci. Erbaut wurde das Wasserschloss von der Familie „Bredows“ zu 1566 und es ging im Laufe der Zeit an „Friedrich der Große“ über, so ließ er es um 1740 in den heutigen Zustand umbauen. So erlebte der Kronprinz die glücklichste Zeit seines Lebens in Rheinsberg. Sein jüngerer Bruder, Prinz Heinrich von Preußen, schuf hier anschließend einen bedeutenden Musenhof und prägte nachhaltig Schloss und Garten im Stil des frühen Klassizismus. In seinen „Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg“ setzte Theodor Fontane der Stadt ein literarisches Denkmal, und bald darauf machte Kurt Tucholsky Rheinsberg zur charmanten Erfüllung unbeschwerter Liebe. Auch heute kann sich kaum ein Besucher dem Charme des Ortes entziehen.

Diese Schwarz & Weiß fineART Interpretation mit dem außergewöhnlichen Glasbausteinmauerwerk ist auch gleichzeitig meine letzte Aufnahme mit dem iPhone 11proMAX die ich hier höchstwahrscheinlich poste. Warum? Weil mein iPhone-Display einen Sturz nicht überlebt hat. ☻

ENG: At the beginning of 2021, the electro-hip-hop band Deichkind visited the Elbphilharmonie and created their very own sound for this building. You can like it, but you don't have to. ☻

The Elbphilharmonie (nicknamed "Elbphi") had a construction period from 2007 to 2016 and is a concert hall in Hamburg. The opening ceremony took place on 11 January 2017. It was planned with the aim of creating a new landmark for the city and a "cultural monument for all". The entire project then cost around 866 million euros. The 110 metre high building in the HafenCity district is located on the right bank of the Norderelbe at the tip of the Großen Grasbrook and has 26 floors and 29 elevators.
It was built using the shell of the former Kaispeicher A warehouse from 1963. A modern structure with a glass façade reminiscent of sails, water waves, icebergs or a quartz crystal was placed on this plinth. The location at the Kaiserhöft is characterised by the former industrial use of the harbour and the neo-Gothic brick architecture of the Speicherstadt.

GER: Anfang des Jahres 2021 war die Elektro-Hip-Hop Band Deichkind zu Besuch in der Elbphilharmonie und hat einen ganz eigenen Sound für dieses Gebäude kreiert. Man kann es mögen, muss aber nicht. ☻

Die Elbphilharmonie (Spitzname: „Elbphi“) hatte eine Bauzeit von 2007 bis 2016 und ist ein Konzerthaus in Hamburg. Die Eröffnungsfeier fand am 11. Januar 2017 statt. Sie wurde mit dem Ziel geplant, ein neues Wahrzeichen der Stadt und ein „Kulturdenkmal für alle“ zu schaffen. Das ganze Projekt kostete dann rund 866 Millionen Euro. Das 110 Meter hohe Gebäude im Stadtteil HafenCity liegt am rechten Ufer der Norderelbe an der Spitze des Großen Grasbrooks und besitzt 26 Etagen sowie 29 Aufzüge.
Es wurde unter Einbeziehung der Hülle des früheren Kaispeichers A aus dem Jahre 1963 errichtet. Auf diesen Sockel wurde ein moderner Aufbau mit einer Glasfassade gesetzt, die an Segel, Wasserwellen, Eisberge oder einen Quarzkristall erinnert.
