I received an iPad 2 for a birthday gift recently which plunged my peaceful being into the midst of a waging war I did not know was still going on. Truly the energy and knowing of war is with my soul from ancient lifetimes though this life I stand for peace and the beauty of harmony and dominion with Goddess in all things.

He was fiercely competitive from an underdog position. Then they played that famous Apple 1984 commercial. Did you ever notice how similar recent keynote presentations by Steve Jobs with him on stage with huge screens and an enraptured following are in so many ways like unto that original commercial which was supposedly meant as a promise of freedom for all?
As I excitedly began to explore my new iPad 2 I soon discovered that when using imovies I could not access the clips I had taken with the apple camera unless I turned on location services. The device was literally forcing me to do what they want me to or I can' t even see let alone edit the clips on my pad. As I continued to work with all the delights of the iPad came more limitations and restrictions of the various freedoms and creativity that Apple seemed to me to be championing throughout their stellar corporate life.
The grand limitation that collided with my expectations of unbridled new levels of freedom and fun and play and more powerful and effective work with this truly wonderful device was discovering with shocked disbelief that I cannot even choose what internet browser I like to use and that site after site that I needed and wanted to visit in the Safari browser that is my only choice on iPad restricts the viewing of flash.
Even a visit to YouTube directly through Safari and not through the beautiful yet forced with no alternative YouTube app forced me to abandon my free-flowing adventures seeing empty movie player windows with "flash required" messages instead of the content I had surfed to discover. Visiting my Facebook and Twitter accounts I was also forced to abandon my flow due to "flash player not installed" messages. Of course you know Apple forbids you to install the flash player on your iPad.
I continued to study and research the matter. I read Steve Jobs letter, " Thoughts on Flash". I watched the documentary MacHeads. I did hours of googling on the matter. I began to notice all the competitor devices were now offering the selling slogans that let me know on their device I could view the real internet. Meaning that Apple is so severely limiting true freedom that it has now become a worldwide war centered around Flash but so much more than that. I deeply contemplated the history of the "Apple vs. all the others" battle that has waged since the beginning. I contemplated why Apple says they are doing this.
I am writing this in a cafe on my way to shop for a new device that allows me the freedom that Apple promises but does not deliver. IMHO.
I have my shiny new ipad2 on craigs list and have asked the ones who gave me this gift if I can have their help to return this and have the cash instead or perhaps a more suitable device such as a laptop with Windows 7. I appreciate this experience for the awareness it has brought to me about the current state of affairs in global interactive communication which is more exciting and fun now than ever before. And I pray for peace in the war Apple wages it seems now more fiercely than ever. I ask for a most benevolent outcome for all concerned including me and this ipad 2 on which I write this post.
So really pleased with this, painted entirely in Procreate on Ipad2, wet flat headed paint brush only, half on the way in this morning and the rest on the train home. Such a great bit of kit this, really exploring the possibilities and getting used to the different way of working, next.... Colours!!!! :)
This one's been sitting on my iPad2 for quite some time also. It was going to be for my wife's book, but she ended up learning how to paint on the iPad herself. I was a bit slow with the one and spent too much time painting the fine details on the rocks.
I have to confess that I'm not a true fan of things in black. In fact, I'm actually a "white" person. Oh well!
Things arranged neatly:
1. A black Ipad2 - Best human creation and it's been with me most of the time since the day I bought it. Ohh, not forgetting the long queue that I had to wait to get my hands on this baby. ;)
2. Black frame specs - Always half blind without these and I only wear it when I'm at home!
3. Trusty black gel ink pen - Writing will never be the same without it.
4. My favourite liquid eyeliner which I thought would last me a lifetime.
5. Black gel eyeliner pot - Great for long wear!
6. Lastly, the nifty fifty!
