This was taken with my iPad2 ... I'm really surprised how well it turned out ...
Straightened and a little colour enhancement in Windows 7.

My parents bought me an Ipad2 for Christmas and I love it! It was suppose to be a graduation gift, since I'm expecting to finish my Masters program this April, but they decided to just give it to me as a Christmas present (I had to beg them a little XD).
I'm going to miss student life once I graduate. If I miss it enough I might start studying again and get started on my PhD, hehe.
I got the title from a quote by Soren Kierkegaard.

I dd have to tweak this one in photoshop. The sun beams are in camera one of the cool things I am finding you can do with the iPad2 camera. However, I picked up a weird artifact/reflection on the face.
Edgar Poe sitting on our Oaxacan fish rug. Painted on ipad2 in Procreate.
I don't know...I spent countless hours on this one, and it actually looks like what it's a picture of, but I'm not happy with it. Either I'm getting fed up with my unschooled vrai-naif style, or I didn't choose the right subject. Or both.
Help me out here, y'all...
I'd set my mind on getting myself an iPad2 the moment it was announced but due to stock shortages, I lost interest over time (I wasn't as desperate to wait in line nor reserve one and Japan's launch date was pushed back due to the earthquake crisis at the time).
One weekend a few weeks back, I walked by the electronics store and out of curiosity, thought I'd check to see if any were available. As luck would have it, a handful were available on that day.
I've never owned an iPad before but I've grown used to it over the past few weeks and find it very useful for reading, managing my schedule, and recording everyday memories whenever I don't have my camera with me. Definitely a necessity in my bag everyday now : )
So decided to venture into the world of digital colur painting wit my ipad2! Sooooo fluid and love the way the paint mixes on screen and
Trails off with quick brush strokes, amazing bit if tech, will be using more now that I have found my ground with the software, next step on the spot, life speed paints :)
A digital painting made in Procreate on the ipad2.
Why make a Robert Rauschenberg knockoff (with colors & proportions changed)? Because I got a notecard of Rauschenberg's Airport: Cat Paws, 1974 and was really impressed by it. It used to be, when artists wanted to fully appreciate and learn more about an artwork, they would set up an easel in the museum and copy it.
Also, it gave me a chance to experiment with a brush that kind of simulates loose-woven fabric and with combining digital painting & collage.
Macworld Grand Poobah Jason Snell, at last week's iPad 2 intro event. I snapped this photo of him using one of the demo units and emailed it to myself. Compare to this one, snapped a moment later using my iPhone 4. Both photos are unprocessed, but this emailed file was downsampled. I think it's a fair comparison at Flickr's default sizes.
