Dear Steve Jobs, you can't name your product the iPad and not expect this to happen. Consider it your punishment for not hiring enough women.
When I saw Steve Jobs demoing the iPad at the ominous Apple Keynote I asked myself: Isn't it just a big iPod touch? That time my answer to the question was "yes, it is, nothing more". Now, that I have seen the device, touched it, and used it, I can state that software-wise it might be "just a fat iPod touch", but when you start using it, it is certainly much more.
I don't know how it could fit into my life, and I surely don't need one… but I want one. :)
