The Pelican Pub & Brewery in Pacific City, Oregon is excited to announce the upcoming emergence of its newest family member, Silverspot IPA. Silverspot IPA will be taking a permanent slot in the Pelican lineup with its brilliant gold color and assertively complex hop aroma. Brew Master Darron Welch selected the blend of Sterling, Fuggle and Meridian hops, focusing on herbal, floral, spicy and tangerine-like characters to create this highly drinkable 6% abv English-Style IPA. Enjoy the new addition to the Pelican family August 21st, at the Pelican Pub & Brewery, and look for Silverspot IPA in the market starting September 6th.
Silverspot IPA celebrates the Oregon Silverspot butterfly which once flourished in coastal grasslands from Washington to California. Due to habitat loss, this threatened butterfly is now found only in a handful of protected areas. The Oregon Coast is home to most of these sites including nearby Mt. Hebo and Cascade Head, which can be seen from the patio of the Pelican Pub & Brewery. Oregon Silverspot butterflies depend on a unique ecosystem of coastal grasslands, with caterpillars feeding on violet leaves and butterflies drinking the nectar of flowering plants. A collaborative habitat restoration and reintroduction program is helping to increase this butterfly population. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this beer will help fund conservation efforts for the Oregon Silverspot Butterfly.

This was our first taste of G's from scratch IPA. I bought him the kit from brooklynbrewshop.com/. It was his first kit that was from grains and not concentrate. He is now obsessed and talks about beer for no less than three hours everyday. The glass is one that he brought back from his travels in Germany.
Saint Arnold tries his first glass of Saint Arnold IPA aboard the tall ship ELISSA at the brewery's launch party for the new beer.
Konakis IPA next to Harpoon IPA. The coloring, clarity, carbonation are pretty different. Too much head on KB IPA, but nice overall once it goes down. The taste has mellowed a bit since being bottled back in November (thank god).
De Súria. Round 2. IPA. Aigua, malt d'ordi, civada, llúpol, llevats. Doble dry hopping amb llúpols Enigma i Azacca. 45 IBUs. 7%. Per commemorar el segon aniversari de La Pirata. Boníssima. First IPA. Very blurred, very hopped and not so much alcoholic.
Primeira IPA. Bem turva, bem lupulada e não muito alcoólica.
Not a super heavy IPA, this is an IPA that attempts to give you a bit of the old balance. Hops, but not exceptionally bitter, the malts are heavier giving it more of a sweet feel.
So not your typical brute force west coast IPA. Not my thing, but I am a bitter guy...
