Who says you have to have snow for it to feel like Christmas! The Christmas spirit is full swing at my home town in Gooseberry Estates. Yours truly designed our little market area and I focused on using a lot of Ionic buildings and scenery. Plus a few goodies from The Black Forest TBF Gooseberry stays green 12 months a year but I love the Christmas season and it feels just like Christmas already here. The Sacred Way begins at the Harbor Gate and extended south for 300 feet to the square in front of the bouleterion. It was 90 feet wide, with sidewalks 18 feet wide on either side. It passed through the city walls at a Roman gate restored by Trajan, and continued out of the city for 12 miles (20 km) to Didyma. Sonntag maritim – Hier noch ein Foto vom Rohöl-Tanker „IONIC ASTRAPI“ beim Verlassen des Rostocker Seehafens am 22.09.2023.
Der Tanker ist 244 Meter lang, wurde 2011 in Dienst gestellt und fährt unter der Flagge der Marshall Islands.
Aktuell (22.10.2023 07.00) liegt die „IONIC ASTRAPI“ im Golf von Mexiko vor Parjaritos (Mexiko) am Anker.

The Royal Crescent is a row of 30 terraced houses laid out in a sweeping crescent in the city of Bath, England. Designed by the architect John Wood, the Younger and built between 1767 and 1774, it is among the greatest examples of Georgian architecture to be found in the United Kingdom and is a Grade I listed building. Although some changes have been made to the various interiors over the years, the Georgian stone façade remains much as it was when first built.
The 150 metre long crescent has 114 Ionic columns on the first floor with an entablature in a Palladian style above. It was the first crescent of terraced houses to be built and an example of "rus in urbe" (the country in the city) with its views over the parkland opposite.
Many notable people have either lived or stayed in the Royal Crescent since it was built over 240 years ago, and some are commemorated on special plaques attached to the relevant buildings. Of the crescent's 30 townhouses, 10 are still full-size townhouses; 18 have been split into flats of various sizes; one is the No. 1 Royal Crescent museum and the large central house at number 16 is the Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa
Bath is the largest city in the ceremonial county of Somerset. With a history going back to Roman times, when it first became a centre for bathing, much of its famed architecture dates from the Georgian era, when it became a fashionable place for wealthy Londoners to take the waters, connected by the ever faster stagecoach network.
Many of the streets and squares were laid out by John Wood, the Elder. Jane Austen lived in Bath in the early 19th century. Further building was undertaken in the 19th century and following the Baedecker Blitz of 1942.

Overcast and light raining that day forced all visitors to be inside this great looking structure inside Alhambra palace.
It was not easy in post to get all of the columns straight with my wide angle 20mm lens :), taken hand-held in dim sunlight.

It’s an immense granite square, enclosing a large, circular courtyard. It is structurally imposing, as befits the imperial title that Charles wore. Its enormous façade connotes power, dignity, solemnity; it is majestic, aloof. The heavy-looking, bevelled stones of the lower half of the façade settle the building solidly on the ground. The impression of weight is inescapable. Straight vertical and horizontal lines predominate; square and rectangular windows are larger and more prominent than the small circular ones. A pediment over the doorway and four accompanying half columns betray classical influence, as do the triple pediments and half columns immediately above. Ionic pilasters (a rectangular column attached to and projecting from a wall) between the upper windows maintain the classical flavour.
