My Thoughts

He stood in the dark night

Staring at me wearily

He seemed to be a shadow cast by a distant light

Covered with hair, I asked him warily

Who it was and why he was here with me

He said nothing but did stare

The mystery man did not speak to me

But did possess a demeanor so rare

I found him strange and frightening

I could feel my throat tightening

My skin sweat and my blood rushed to my feet

Who was this mystery man I chanced to meet?

Then he disappeared into thin air

Without a word said out loud

Yet, for moment he did share

A feeling of being under a dark cloud

Words to the Picture

It’s funny how certain pictures are „acknowledge“ after a period of time. This is also one of the older photos that i have. I saw this yesterday, when i was going through my library and then the idea came to my mind. So i had to do it and hope you see that something that i saw in this picture.

EXPLORED! September 22, 2010 (Highest Rank #177). Explore is really strange, just when you thought your picture didn’t make it, you check through Scout and there it is. What a surprise!

In advance

I was going to try a few bird photos and didn't notice this funny squirrel until I was only a couple of steps away. He was so busy with his dinner he didn't mind me that much. Love how the little bird was patiently waiting for his turn. And maybe wondering about the acrobatic skills the squirrel was showing.

can’t wait to see these guys again this year, this is one of my swans from last year who had six cygnets but disappeared after the terrible floods

i was talking to someone who lived nearby and they said that as it floods every year - she keeps building her nest higher and higher (the above shot was actually taken when the water was quite high again, when it was lower, the nest looked huge!)

and caught the fab visitor we get at the reserve below with one of the locals!

I was hoping to see the horses out grazing but instead I got a truck. I suspect this farmer who lives down the road was checking his fences.

I always think yellow is such a happy colour.... and my new favourite thing to take macros of is the centre of flowers.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone:)

Gray is the true neutral color. Its energy imparts void, emptiness, lack of movement, emotion, warmth and identifying characteristics. Because of this, gray can be restful. It has a detached and isolated feeling. Gray can have a cooling effect when placed next to other more vibrant colors. It has a stabilizing effect, making vibrant colors stand out while muting their vibration.

Tried hiking in the smokies today, did about 3 miles in an hour but just couldn't get into it. Not feeling happy or depressed, not excited or melancholy, just somewhere in the middle.

I always post pictures of Ana but never of my two older darlings. Diego, my middle son, has been going through a rough patch this past year, mainly due to the birth of his little sister. He's a very immatutre boy, full of insecurities, but has a very big heart, big blue eyes (although you can't tell here),

and the prettiest, happiest smile in the whole world. My Diego in the middle...

Finally sitting down for the day...just in time for half-time...great. Probably violating some sort of copyright rule with this shot, but it fits today's theme and I'm tired.
