Oh the celebrity-sighting in City of Palms Park continues... Morley Safer (of 60 Minutes) interviewed Mike Lowell right in front of where we were standing to watch BP. It was interesting that in a crowd of over-60-year-olds, I was the one who could identify Morley Safer. Or maybe that isn't so surprising.
The pressing question is whether my knees are in the cameraman's shot. Maybe my "Somerville is for lovers" shirt will make it to prime time, although I really hope not.
Team-phenomenon, having today a permanent place in the pantheon of the most important groups counterculture Central and Eastern Europe. The name of this cult band of course after the famous song by Frank Zappa and the Plastic People beginnings date back to 1969 (for many reasons pivotal year in world music). Style of the band is an explosive mix of psychedelic rock, symphonic sound, art-rock with a touch of folk, jazz, and sometimes even harsher sounds, such as punk. In addition to DG 307, Plastic People of the Universe also they became the musical symbol of rebellion and resistance against official power, which naturally brought to the members of the numerous problems and repression, including interviewing, beatings, inability to develop the passport, and finally the long-term imprisonment. Over the years, the band was falling apart, alternating crashed and reactivity itself, there were various ancillary stores, such as Midnight derived from the original "plastic". On the other voices will, however, exceptional and unique opportunity to see and hear the real Plastic People of the Universe. An opportunity which you simply can not miss.

I interviewed the band for Rocklouder on Friday on video. I didn't get a chance to take a proper photo, so instead here's a still from the early part of the interview.
I hoofed it to yet another job interview today. She liked me, but she didn't have any openings. Hmpf. (I'm not a fan of the strategy, but she was interviewing now in case she needs someone later on in the summer, right before the school year starts. Oh well, at least I was interviewed!)

Grace Kelly Herbert, founder of Finding Shelter, a no-kill foster based animal rescue operation based in Norristown and current “foster parents” like Chava Spivak-Birndorf seek permanent homes for dogs outside the Bone Apetite store on Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill. A blind, hydrocephalic dog she describes as “amazing” that Herbert and her husband had rescued inspired them to help find homes for other rescue dogs. Expected to live only two weeks, the dog lived another two years. Finding Shelter encourages prospective “adoptive parents” to submit multiple applications for dogs and tries to find the best fit for each dog and home. Watch video here
