A photo of my interview for a documentary on February 26, 2013.

I have decided not to wear suits to any interviews for jobs where I would never have to wear a suit to work.

This was my first fall-weather interview - so my first interview I didn't wear a pretty grey-and-neutral colored wrap dress, and a wool skirt instead.

Mike from the Gazette interviewed Julien from In Over your Head Radio and M-C from Vu d'Ici in a parc off St-Laurent blvd. I'm totally impressed that such a conservative paper is running a story on something like podcasting. Congrats Julien and M-C!

05/05/2004 - "Times/Foyles Writers & Readers Forums present an evening with Paul Auster, to celebrate the publication of Oracle Night."

At the Institute of Education, Logan Hall, London (UK).

This evening was pretty inspirational for me. I had originally travelled to London for the Beulah concert, and was only made aware of this at the last minute. I decided to do both.

Auster described ideas forming slowly over a period of years, forming constellations as they linked together. His earlier life and works, successes and failures were also discussed.

I apologise for the quality of the photo, which is an unfortunate thing to do on this site in particular. However, it's an important moment for me and I hope the other attendees found it as fascinating as I did. If you went and have a better memory than I, I'd love to hear your recollections.

The evening was split into three sections - a reading, an interview, and dedications/signings. This photo is from the interview section of the evening. I'm sure you're so glad I cleared that up for you.

(Oh, in case you were wondering... after this, I dashed straight to my original destination: a door with a piece of paper attached saying Beulah had cancelled. It was an incredible experience - to this day I've still not seen a piece of paper quite like it. Beulah split up a few months later so I'm really lucky to have seen that piece of paper while it was still relevant. I'm not bitter, oh no.)
