Mingle Media TV and Kristyn Burtt were invited to come out and cover the the 39th Annual Annie Awards for the The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood.
Often a predictor of the annual Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, the Annie Awards honor overall excellence as well as individual achievement in a total of 28 categories ranging from best feature, production design, character animation, and effects animation to storyboarding, writing, music, editing and voice acting.
ASIFA-Hollywood is the world’s first and foremost professional organization dedicated to promoting the Art of Animation and celebrating the people who create it. Today, ASIFA-Hollywood, the largest chapter of the international organization ASIFA, supports a range of animation activities and preservation efforts through its membership. Current initiatives include the Animation Archive, animation film preservation, special events, classes and screenings. Created in 1972 by veteran voice talent June Foray, the Annie Awards have grown in scope and stature for the past three decades. Today the Illawarra Knitting Nannas Against Gas (IKNAG), held their final 'knit ins' before the NSW elections. They started the day outside channel seven's 'Sunrise' program at 8:30am. They them moved up Martin Place to knit outside Parliament House from 11am.

Almost ready for my interview. I re-did the tie after taking this picture so that it came down a bit farther. I must have a longer-than-normal torso, because the thin side of the tie was only about 7 inches long.
Trish Levido and Zoe Dobson have been undertaking oral history interviews, for the Mosman Local Studies Collection, for a number of years.
They presented a demonstration of an oral history interview to show how simple, stress free and entertaining an interview can be for all those involved.
Part of the 2010 National Trust Heritage Festival at Mosman Library, 9-24 April 2010.
The theme of this year’s festival allows us to recognise the contributions local people have made in shaping their community. To this end a series of workshops have been devised – Stories to Tell – to facilitate the recording of ‘everyman’s life’.

Rashid Abdul/Majid, a practicing Muslim, turns to his Arabic language books during breaks in his substitute-teaching class schedule on a recent day at Parkway Northwest High School in Mount Airy. He is currently studying Arabic, taking one class on the Arabic language- grammar and sentence structure, and another, called Tajweed, on how to recite from the Koran. A recently retired driver of 38 years with SEPTA who has been simultaneously substituting for many years, he loves to travel around the world and has visited China and many countries in Africa. During the upcoming March spring break, with his wife and son, he is taking a return trip to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. watch video interview here

On hand were Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum who gave an opening statement about the growth of television content is available on broadcast, cable, and the Internet and is now viewable on everything from mobile devices to your home television. He also mentioned the 19,000 members of the Television Academy and how this year members were voting online.
