Little Moreton Hall, Cheshire. Glassed windows became an important decorative component in the XV - XVI. They also were expensive and were therefore matter of pride as symbol of wealth. The name of the artisan and the buyer were written around the biggest windows for this reason.
The Interruption. 9 x 12. Watercolor. 1993. From a photograph I took at the Huntington Library Gardens in California. The original roses were yellow. I changed them to pink.
My friend, Eagle-Eye Duane (cyberastrofolkie), noticed some seasonal acitivities in the trees behind the house, on January 7, 2013, in Columbia County, New York, USA. In this shot--the second I took--it looks like the squirrels are giving me the evil eye! Sorry about that!

Day two hundred fifty-one/365. I think we interrupted his evening walk. This porcupine waddled off slowly and deliberately after giving us the once-over.
I would've been able to get one more shot as he climbed over a large rock, but I could frame only his tail end. This angle seemed prettier.
