VARPALOTA TRAINING AREA, Hungary - Saker Falcon is a multinational training exercise involving roughly 200 Soldiers from U.S. Army Europe's 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, two Dutch Air Assault battalions, and Hungarian military forces. The objectives of the training include enhancing joint combined interoperability with allied and partner nations and preparing participants to operate in a joint, multinational, integrated environment with support from Hungarian governmental agencies. Radio Center houses transmitters and repeaters for the City of Rochester and Monroe County, NY Police, Fire, EMS and other public safety agencies. It is located on Cobbs Hill (640 ft above sea level).
City Police, County Sheriff and town PDs are using about 30 P25 digital UHF channels.
City and County Fire using VHF, County EMS is VHF.
No 9-1-1 dispatching is done from this location, it is a primary transmitter site and radio installation/repair shop only.
NY State Troopers, NY Dept of Environmental Conservation (law enforcement division), medical examiners, probation and state university police have access to this system for interoperability.
Multinational partners from 15 nations took part in a Memorial Day ceremony at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC), the U.S. Army's only overseas Combat Training Center (CTC) based at Hohenfels, Germany during Combined Resolve II. Paratroopers from the British Army's 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, clear rooms inside of a shoot house on Fort Bragg, N.C., July 22. The 3rd PARA conducted blank fire training within the shoot house alongside Paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team. The training was held to prepare both units for the Falcon Brigade's field training exercise in early August and set the stage for future interoperability. Interoperability is the division's effort to integrate U.S. and allied forces' communication and intelligence systems, combat tactics, and sustainment functions to meet future, complex threats throughout the world. .

The Theatre Equipment Support Battalion recently held an Interoperability Exercise (IOX) at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. It was a high profile event attended by UK, U.S, Danish, and Estonian participants and by members of the Afghan National Army (ANA).
The exercise demonstrated how vehicles are recovered during Combat Logistic Patrols (CLPs) in the event of breakdown, being bogged down or being disabled by enemy action. CLP’s are often a multi-national affair; hence the requirement to recover vehicles is essential. This exercise was an opportunity to demonstrate multi-national procedures and ensure compliance between the different nations.

Helping remote communities in the North

Operation NANOOK is one of three major recurring sovereignty operations conducted annually by the Canadian Forces (CF) in Canada's Arctic. Planned and directed by Joint Task Force North (JTFN) the whole-of-government operation highlights interoperability, command and control, and cooperation with interdepartmental and intergovernmental partners in the North. Operation NANOOK 10 takes place in Canada's Eastern and High Arctic area from August 6 to 26 and includes two major exercises, Exercise NATSIQ, a sovereignty and presence patrolling exercise of military resources, and Exercise TALLURUTIIT a whole-of -government exercise that focuses on environmental containment and remediation resulting from a simulated fuel spill.
Operation NANOOK 10, as a combined, joint and integrated operation engages personnel and resources (ships and aircraft) from: the Canadian Navy, the Canadian Army, Canada's Air Force and CF Special Forces; other federal government departments to include Public Safety, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian Coast Guard (central and Arctic region), Transport Canada, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Environment Canada, Parks Canada, the Government of Nunavut; the municipal communities of Resolute Bay, Pond Inlet, Grise Fiord, Iqaluit and Arctic Bay; and internationally the US Navy's 2nd Fleet, the US Coast Guard and the Royal Danish Navy.
