Year 7 Completion Ceremony | 2013-14
22 members of the seventh year cohort of the Aboriginal Youth Internship Program (AYIP) celebrated the completion of their 12-month program at a ceremony in Victoria, B.C.
The Honourable John Rustad, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, presented each of the interns with a completion certificate. Speakers included Chief Ron Sam, Songhees Nation, Chief Andy Thomas, Esquimalt Nation, Kate Elliot, Métis Nation B.C., Howard Grant, First Nations Summit, Hjalmer Wenstob, BC Assembly of First Nations, Priscilla Sabbas Watts, and intern Joshua Gottfriedson.

Participants in this summer’s Illinois EPA Pollution Prevention Internship program received training and met with Agency officials on May 24 before beginning their assignments at companies or organizations around the state. The Ohio Export Internship Program helps businesses grow by expanding internationally, and gives undergraduate students the skills and experience to succeed in a globally competitive job market.
The Ohio Export Internship Program is a collaboration between the Ohio Development Services Agency, The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration, placing students in businesses across the state. The 42-member graduating class of 2015 showcases the positive impact of these partnerships between the state of Ohio, its universities and private industry.
Since 2012, the program has generated millions of dollars of global sales for Ohio companies, and created more than 100 internationally focused internships. Ohio exports reached a record-setting $52.1 billion in 2014, and continue to drive economic growth and fuel job creation in our state.

The Indigenous Youth Internship Program has supported more than 250 interns to date and is one of the most successful programs of its kind in Canada. Established in 2007, up to 25 Indigenous youth ages 19 to 29 are placed into 12-month paid internships each year. The interns spend nine months in the BC Public Service followed by three months in one of over 100 selected Indigenous organizations across BC.
