The Internal of Gaudi's work is as beautiful as its external.....They say that La Pedrera is a fantastic example of environmental houses....
....the building is built in such a way to sustain as much heat as possible during Winter and as much coolness as possible in Summer, eliminating the need for conditioning systems...
Vertical staircase bannisters on an internal stairscase, horizontal venetian blinds, big glass shopfront window and reflections.
What a true nature heart desires to say
suffice it, the whole minutiae making a whole lot of headway
from 'Golden Years'; still left undone
thoughts remain unpacked, encased with caution
however young the heart and soul
there's always the brake of ages to continually console
stages sevenfold twist, turn and tower
rising with a sonant of breathless gesture
here it comes, a funnel cloud of emotion
ripping the heart from all in it's waking auction
such spoils of war-torn engendered toils
sacrificial to the proceeds of the bitterness it embroils
how can anything be when nothing is felt
spiralling out of the grasp of numbness, how unfelt
can longing a loss of seeking so much from so little
like the tale from childhood, that long forgotten symbol
a song whose title eludes the constancy of tongue-tipping
passion highlights the visual sensations within heartfelt blending
it's now nature or never can a heart blossom again
I hear tabla's and pipa's from the touch of setting Sun and Zen
a rubab too from the eastern leaning of the Oak before me
this steady climb of internal mind affords healing sought so badly
the aim to dispose of the throwaway society is upon me
a forerunning thought to overthrow evil global deeds a plenty
our world remains so but don't stare or pry beyond respectfulness
an equal share exists for us all and can be fed with our voicedness
a duty to use the soil well, feed our neighbours and respect our very nature
to squander and pollute our inner soul with the waste of resources answer
is to question our very right to remain custodian to the planet so precious
a treasure such as life, love and survival of our world must forever remain our focus.

I'll start the image flow from my recent (October 2016) trip to the USA Canyon Lands with this image from Antelope Canyon.
This was my second trip to Antelope Canyon in Arizona, and I had two goals in mind; shoot some classic scenes with new eyes, skills, and equipment. AND shoot some more abstract compositions with the hope I could put my own impression on a place that surely every square inch has been photographed.
Hope you like this first of several from the canyon.
What a great day out, meeting up with Mart and Marc, exploring a disused railway, ramen noodles and coffee and then back to the spot for a cracking Light Painting shoot in the evening. Matt and I had a crack at the tunnel and possibly the last shot from HAL's remaining internal camera. "Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye." Qt

My daughter asked me after hearing of the sad events caused by terrorism in Beirut and Paris the last 2 days: “why do humans terrorize other humans?” Questions like this always get us into a journey of search for the truth, for reason, for sanity and for an explanation that can offer settlement, even if it was short-lived.
We are given a choice, the moment we were born to be as good or as bad as we want to be. We battle with our own morality throughout our lives here on this planet. We seek out desperately that bit of cool blue logic to give us strength to choose wisely.
I posted several ‘pray for Paris’ tributes on social media today and I was caught by one comment from someone saying that “if prayer helped, then the world would already be a better place”. But do we just give up hope in the face of an uncertain future? What kind of world are our children inheriting?

“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” -Sir Edmund Hillary
It’s very true that internal challenges can be the most difficult. There will always be inner mountains to climb and if I’ve learned anything in my life, it’s that we’re much stronger and resilient than we give ourselves credit for.
When I’m feeling overwhelmed or beaten down, notebooks are one thing that have always helped me. To write things down and get them out of my head puts things into perspective. The problem often doesn’t seem so daunting then.
Notebook from Wildlight and Wonder, bandana from Wayfaring Wolves (Etsy).
At some point it was bound to happen. The edifice of reality slips and there it is: the essense of reality.
Internal loco D24 takes the line round to the Dillinger Hütte blast furnace which dominates the scene. Iron and steel production has existed on this site since 1685 with the AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke, Germany's first joint stock company, founded in 1809. The worlds first slab con-cast opened on site in 1962 capable of producing 450mm thick slabs along with a rolling mill with an effective width of 5.5m. Molten metal is also supplied to the Saarschmiede in the Suppenzug (Soup Trains), the drone was up for that although during a quick land to conserve battery the train appeared.
I’ve been having these weird dreams lately where I’ve been drowning in each one of them. Finally I decided to look up and see what it meant:
“Because of the water, drowning depicts fear of being overwhelmed by difficult emotions or anxieties. But this might apply not to dangerous emotions or urges, but to natural urges such as eating, loving or sex, that some people have enormous conflicts about. Drowning in a dream is also about struggling to survive as a person, so it applies to your identity as it is dealing with relationship with other people, but also with your own internal world of instincts, body activities and needs.”
Pretty spot on with this last week. But, with this new week I’ve decided to try and be positive instead of letting myself sink even further. Today, I killed my science exam (I think) and I’ve been telling myself that things will be alright. Somehow, with everything that happens in my life I feel like I manage to keep my head above water.

Maintaining the status quo.
This little gemstone is only 25mm tall but it is able to give varied and interesting colours when exposed to a light source. In this case strong directional sunlight through the trees in Eglinton Park.
One inch tall Moonstone in contre jour lighting with selective lighting and focus.
Internal lens reflections, more commonly known as lens flare, can both be a blessing and a curse.
Every photographer can think of multiple examples where they either bless the presence of lens flare, or curse the lens for being so flare prone.
In this case, I did my best to get the most and most beautiful lens flare I could produce. Vintage lenses often are more flare-prone then modern ones, due to the lack of (modern) coatings.
Helped by my trusty LED flashlight and by using my most flare-prone lens, I created this photograph for Crazy Tuesday, theme Reflections
Lens used is the Unitax Auto Zoom 70-230mm f/4 MC Macro, a vintage zoom lens build by Sun Optical. Focal length around 140mm and f/8.
Post processing in DxO PhotoLab 5, darkening the background and pushing the lens flare
A Trio of Geeps lead CP train T08 past the 1918 built Pontypool Grain elevator . Like the Grain elevator not much is happening along this Old railway, Traffic is down to one train a day and the Railway has been downgraded to an internal short line within the Canadian Pacific network named the " Kawartha Lakes Railway" ........ But if Via rail Canada get's there way soon this rail line would be seeing multiple passenger trains going back and forth between Montreal and Toronto on Via's proposed High Frequency Rail corridor
Haven't done anything new in a while. Waiting for the leaves to start turning. In the mean time, this was taken at the beginning of the summer. The entire day it was raining off and on with the occasional sun bursting through. I was done photographing the falls from the bottom and was debating whether or not to hang around until sunset. I guess, you know what the outcome of my internal debate was :) This is Kaaterskill Falls in NY.
Taken for the Macro Monday's theme "Broken"
