FORT BRAGG, N.C. – Completed in April 2012, the new Irwin Intermediate School at Fort Bragg opened just in time for the 2012-2013 school year. Construction on the $14.9 million, 112,025-square-foot facility began in 2010 and was managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District. The new school replaces the original Irwin building built in 1962. The school was formally dedicated with an opening ceremony on Sept. 27, 2012. It was named in memory of Lt. Gen. Stafford Leroy Irwin, who served as the post commander from 1946 to 1948. Located off of Normandy Drive, near Butler and Murray elementary schools, the new Irwin School serves 725 students in grades two through five. Amenities include art, music, and general purpose classrooms, computer labs, a playground, gymnasium, and multipurpose rooms with a stage and kitchen. Within the past few years, the Savannah District has completed more than $100 million in family support projects at Fort Bragg, including schools and child development centers. Between 2013 and 2020, another $90 million is budgeted for continued school development on Fort Bragg. USACE photo by Tracy Robillard, Sept. 12, 2012.

Pretending to be a team of contractors preparing to build an alarm, fourth graders in Mr. Leidy’s science class evaluated the design plans created by fellow student electrical engineers. Students first had to design and build a parallel circuit and custom switch to activate an alarm system complete with a buzzer and light.

This project is a part of the fourth grade electrical engineering STEM unit. At the conclusion of the project, students evaluated their classmates' technology by responding to a variety of writing prompts.

Common, white member of the heron family, sized, as its name suggests, between the Little and Great Egrets. The long plumes on the back and breast indicate that it is in breeding plumage. It feeds by wading in shallow water, spearing fish, crustaceans and amphibians. Seen among the water lilies of Sandy Camp Road Wetland.

HONESTLY...it's so fucking hard!!!

With occasional intermediate stops.

He is so cute when he lifts his ears

And looks around to see what he hears."

Provided where a shunting signal is located between running signals. The green light in the route indicator unit above the signal is displayed when the previous running signal displays, or would have displayed, a full clear indication. It means the line is clear to the next running signal and that signal displays a running proceed indication (at least "caution", for the straight route only if there is a turnout).
