Chestek Lab, also called Cortical Neural Prosthetics Lab is part of the BioInterfaces Institute, NeuroNex MINT Hub, Translational Neuroengineering Group, and Neural Engineering Training Program. They focus on brain machine interface (BMI) systems using large scale electrode arrays implanted in motor and premotor cortex. The goal of this research is to eventually develop clinically viable systems to enable paralyzed individuals to control prosthetic limbs, as well as their own limbs using functional electrical stimulation and assistive exoskeletons. The lab also seeks to expand the bandwidth of this neural interface using novel electrodes, circuits, and algorithms.

Se manejo le concepto de que fuera un escritorio adecuado a una investigación donde podemso encontrar elementos relacionados, como stickers con anotaciones, fotos, rayones, hojas, y asi se busco por medio del juego de colores y contrastes llamar la atención y hacer de la interface agradable al ojo, ademas que se logro un tratamiento juvenil por las imagenes y los contenidos que se tenian.
Esta interface fue propuesta para la feria de la ciencia del 2009 en el mes de octubre en le Colegio Cofrem de Villavicencio, que hace parte de una investigacion por parte de algunos estudiantes, que buscan demostrar el valor educativo en le desarrollo del cerebro.
