Isaw this in the most recent Quilting Arts Magazine & have to give it a shot.
I only have fusible interfacing so hopefully it won't be a problem. I love how the paint goes on, much easier than cotton. I will probably use this for my TIF 1st challenge.
On the TheThingsIWant.com interface, the label to indicate that an item is already purchased by another person isn't nearly clear enough. Yes, most people do notice it, but when it is a site that is meant for grandparents to use, things need to be as obvious as a herd of elephants running through your living room.

The final design of Crowdi includes the incorporation of the following innovative features:
1)"Search Maps". A search map is a large space in which users add media such as images and text which when clicked on results in search results to be presented to you in a window directly below; essentially it acts as a large collaborative search box.
2) "Search Result Dashboards". These allow multiple sets of search results to be presented to us for each query we make. Access to search results from a large number of websites is therefore now possible; including search engines, video sites, blogs, maps, music sites etc. In this way we have real choice when it comes to the search results displayed to us.
3)"Crowdcasting". This is an innovation we are really excited about. Crowdcasting allows multiple users to simultaneously meet and interact with each other in a format which allows for real time student study groups and remote tutoring.
4) Game Dynamics. We will introduce game dynamics to Crowdi in an effort to encourage greater participation by users. Adding content to Crowdi search maps or adding to the dashboards will result in a user moving up the ranks on any given topic, from "novice" right through to "guru", "expert" and the highest possible level of "enlightened".
The fourth chapter of the FOUNDING LAB Fall Term navigates the intricate relationship between social dynamics, interfaces, and data representation. Barbara Lippe introduces virtual reality, initiating a critical analysis of reality through a non-mind-centric lens. Dietmar Offenhuber explores the nature of data, while Jiabao Li delves into ethical considerations in interspecies communication.
The Animal Studies & Animal Design Workshop takes participants to the zoo to connect with their chosen animal, challenging them to map senses and explore historical relationships. A visit to a psychiatric hospital expands perspectives on mental health, perception, and multiple realities through engaging activities.
In the final session, participants intersect realities and collaboratively develop scenarios using alternative expressions such as performance and puppetry. The program concludes with participants leaving with a nuanced understanding and unconventional tools to creatively navigate our interconnected world. The interdisciplinary exploration has broadened perspectives and encouraged reflection and empathy in understanding evolving realities.
