I've been to this spot at West Beach at Indiana Dunes many times, but never quite here. This is usually where the waves are crashing. The water's really not that deep here, of course. This is well within the zone where people wade, and a sand bar runs just beneath the surface around here. If I fell through, the water would probably come up to somewhere between my knees and my chest. Not pleasant, but probably not fatal.

Another test patch.
Handprinting on heavy cotton, overdyed.
(I have multiple jars of black fabric ink that have traveled half way around the world, and back, and sat on my shelves for nearly 20 years. The patches are torn [I don't like scissor-cutting fabric] from daughter's old gi pants. I think the work will have a lot of spirit in it.).
My pockets will be well-used and I don't want them stretching out, so I interfaced the tops. I could've put the interfacing closer to the edge, actually, but it does cover the fold line so I guess it's OK. Also yes, I know my pocket linings are identical rather than symmetrical, but they're going to be invisible forever after they're attached, so shush.
