Lunchtime visit to the V&A Museum in South Kensington, taking in some of the exhibits which were part of the London Design Festival.
Prism designed by digital artist and film-maker Keiichi Matsuda presents an alternative view of London, exposing unseen data flows in the capital through a sculptural, immersive interface suspended in the V&A’s uppermost cupola. The installation is an investigation into the virtual life of the city, and our own often ambiguous relationship with the data that controls our lives.
A stimulating Design challenges session was held at the offices of Buzz4Health at HauzKhas Village attended by startups like AirVeda, 8Minutes, MyButler, HappyHums, StayUncle, Fixing Healthcare, Talking Clay, OLX, and many more. We discussed design, marketing, positioning, branding, design-strategy, design-thinking, and a whole bunch of other topics. Coffee, Chai and snacks on the rooftop by evening. Another beautiful moment together with participants from my Dive Into User-Interface Design and UX Workshop.

InovGrid is an innovative project that aims to equip the electricity grid with information and devices to automate grid management, improve service quality, reduce operating costs, promote energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, and increase the penetration of renewable energies and electric vehicles.One of the most complete smart city projects in Europe, the InovCity project, from the Portuguese utility EDP, includes the installation of 31.000 smart meters until June 2011, enabling real time communication and advanced energy services to EDP customers.
CSide SA provided EDP with its smart energy and automation solutions enabling homeowners to visualize in real time, monitor and interact with their energy consumption, while controlling multiple appliances in their homes.
CSide sustainable home solution was delivered via its unique web and android-based managed service platform which already provides utilities, telco's and service providers with a range of added value services.For consumers it enables control over total consumption of electricity and per each appliance at home every day, week, month or year. Consumers know the time period during the day of increased consumption and they know when they can use electricity at a more favorable price, being able to use their appliances to operate during these periods.

Some thoughts:
* How to demonstrate the power of performances of a feedback field
* Reality is a MAP
* If forward, therefore backward
* How moments of perceptions become interfaces
Fresh from the donator, the "brain at the labs" lies under the microscope, getting ready for some braincells interface experiment.
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- At the Space Station Processing Facility, the STS-104 crew look over equipment as part of Crew Equipment Interface Test activities. From left are Commander Steven Lindsey, Mission Specialist James F. Reilly II and Mission Specialist Michael L. Gernhardt at far right. Not shown is Pilot Charles O. Hobaugh. The STS-104 mission will carry the Joint Airlock Module to the International Space Station. The U.S.-made module will allow astronauts and cosmonauts in residence on the Station to perform future spacewalks without the presence of a Space Shuttle. The module, which comprises a crew lock and an equipment lock, will be connected to the starboard (right) side of Node 1 Unity. Atlantis will also carry oxygen and nitrogen storage tanks, vital to operation of the Joint Airlock, on a Spacelab Logistics Double Pallet in the payload bay. The tanks, to be installed on the perimeter of the Joint Module during the mission˝s spacewalks, will support future spacewalk operations and experiments plus agument the resupply system for the Station˝s Service Module. Something I knocked up for an interface talk to illustrate "the slip". With the correct goal firmly in mind, the user takes the wrong action and immediately realizes their mistake. Wouldn't it be great if there was just one button for that? :) (No, I didn't come up with the idea.)
In reality this sort of thing is handled by an Explorable Interface (which usually means there's an undo button).
