As part of the ES-CEC (Continuing Education Center) project, funded by Fund and implemented by AKF-CEC, a vibrant English Summer School activity was held in Hama–Salamieh on July 22, 2025. The initiative targeted 15 learners aged 10–14 years old (8 females and 7 males), offering them a magical summer experience filled with engaging and educational fun. Under the theme “A Magical Summer at CEC English Summer School!”, the activity featured dynamic and interactive sessions in the “Magic Lab,” where children participated in exciting games and creative experiments specifically designed to enhance their English skills while keeping the learning experience enjoyable and inspiring. "Magic Lab" is a science experiment using safe chemicals to produce a fun, fizzing reaction: perforated cardboard cups with smiley faces are filled with ingredients that, when mixed with vinegar, cause colorful fizzing that reveals the image — combining scientific curiosity with English language learning. Supported by the Aga Khan Foundation, this initiative created a joyful and enriching environment that promoted a love for the English language among children in Salamieh. Through educational activities focused on both engagement and skill development, learners had the opportunity to grow linguistically and socially in a supportive and inclusive setting. This summer school is a component of the wider CEC project, which seeks to increase employment and self-employment opportunities for youth in coordination with the University of Central Asia. The Continuing Education Center's English Summer School provides an engaging and enriching program aimed at enhancing English language skills through innovative activities such as the Magic Lab. Aligned with the Work and Enterprise Program’s employable skills theme, the CEC’s children’s programs are designed to prepare learners for future success by fostering a love of learning and expanding their vocabulary and English proficiency in a fun, creative, and impactful way. This program equips children and teens with essential English language and technical skills, laying a strong foundation for their participation in future training programs.

"Big Science" by Pearson is an engaging and comprehensive science program designed for young learners. It introduces fundamental scientific concepts through hands-on activities, experiments, and real-world examples, making learning both fun and meaningful. The program fosters curiosity and critical thinking, helping students connect scientific knowledge to everyday life while building essential skills for future STEM learning.

Bariloche, Río Negro: Audrey Bergner and Aurelia Jeffery share a joyful moment of discovery within the educational halls of the Museum of Patagonia. The composition highlights the warmth of the interior lighting, which softens the scene while illuminating the rich textures of a layered, patterned jacket worn by the younger traveler. Beside them, the stoic silhouette of a preserved penguin specimen creates a striking juxtaposition between the lively, inquisitive human connection and the frozen stillness of the region’s natural history. The photographer employs a shallow depth of field, keeping the subjects in sharp focus while allowing the informative wall text about regional geography to fade gently into the background. Every element, from the soft knitted hat to the corduroy texture of the outer layer, reflects the practical yet cozy style adopted for navigating the variable climate of the Argentine Lake District. This candid interaction captures the essence of intergenerational travel, emphasizing how local museums serve as essential gateways for understanding the complex ecological tapestry of the Patagonian landscape. By engaging with these exhibits, the pair weaves their own family narrative into the broader historical and scientific context of the Nahuel Huapi region. Such moments are foundational to the spirit of regional exploration, illustrating how the curiosities of the youth are nurtured by the guidance of those introducing them to new environments. This image is a collaborative production by Samuel Jeffery and Audrey Bergner for Project 23.
