Day 1 I receive orders to report to Day Dream island for a classified experimental test of a new dream medication, DRM21
Day 5 The drug is strong, i am experiencing vivid dreams of blue oceans and rolling green hills and mysterious beautiful woman has started to appear in my dreams whispering "remember" and to wake up.
Day 7 The dreams have intensified, the mysterious woman says she is Emellia Faye and she's real urges me to never forget, the colonel refers to her as anomaly 652 , a rogue program set to fool me and destroy the experiment and they must purge it.
Day 9 I am having dreams and i can no longer remember even going to sleep or waking, the line is blurred between reality and the dream world, men on laptops urgently work to purge the anomaly as she appears again and tells me to find her on something called flicker and second life before vanishing to avoid the purge.
Day 11 I can no longer remember simple things, am I awake? I feel like I am slipping away as Emelia's voice pulls me back, she says they are lying to me. Emelia insists she is real and tells me I actually never left Philadelphia, and I must wake up.
Minute 59 I feel a kiss sensation and I awake in a Philadelphia lab and tear away the wires connected to me and overpower the scientist and force the truth, the dream drug is actually a weaponized memory wipe and it was colossal failure because it couldn't overcome the Anomaly, i say That's Emelia Faye as I head off to find her.
The only fight should be the fight of faith. Full force of enduring to the end of life.

A cloudy damp day in the Badlands of South Dakota dampens the earth and intensifies the colorful strata.
Fifteen minutes after the winter sunset, the sky had intensified its color and I got low to reveal the sky's reflections on the sand as the waves receded. This natural "sand painting" was at Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur, California.
As this storm intensified, the cloud-ground lightning (CGs) was nearly constant. The bolt at the right was rather close, which was a signal to pack it up and get out of the way.
The sun just above the cloud (fog) layer was peeking though this morning just after sunrise. Up on the higher parts of the island the fog was really thick. Down here on the shoreline we could see under.
The floating dock from neighbours three or four houses down has been floating around dragging it's buoy anchor around. It's pretty much where it ought to be in this shot.

"Human-caused climate change intensifies the heaviest downpours. More than 70% of the planet’s surface is water, and as the world warms, more water evaporates from oceans, lakes, and soils. Every 1°F rise also allows the atmosphere to hold 4% more water vapor. So when weather patterns lead to heavy rain, there is even more moisture available for stronger downpours, increasing the risk and severity of flooding". Climate Central
Here's the photo I took this morning at 4.55am (May 12th 2016) as the colours of the sunrise intensified to the receding high tide. I awoke at 3am and couldn't sleep and having checked out the tide and sunrise times and the position of the rising sun, I realised that I only had 30 minutes to arrive in Fleetwood so I quickly got up, dressed and jumped in the car. Sometimes taking the bull by the horns and making a decision on the spot with no forethought can often lead to some amazing opportunities in photographing some fantastic scenes and this was one of those moments.
These wonderful boats have been sitting on the banks of the River Wyre estuary at Fleetwood for nearly twenty years now and they make fantastic subjects to shoot. I will return again tomorrow morning as the 8.3metre high tide coincides perfectly with sunrise.

Atlanta (/ætˈlæntə/) is the capital and most populous city of the state of Georgia in the United States. With an estimated 2016 population of 472,522, it is the cultural and economic center of the Atlanta metropolitan area, home to 5.8 million people and the ninth-largest metropolitan area in the United States. Atlanta is the seat of Fulton County and a small portion of the city extends eastward into DeKalb County.
Atlanta was founded as a transportation hub at the intersection of two railroad lines in 1837. After being mostly burned to the ground during the American Civil War, the city rose from its ashes to become a national center of commerce and the unofficial capital of the "New South". During the 1960s, Atlanta became a major organizing center of the civil rights movement, with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Ralph David Abernathy, and many other locals playing major roles in the movement's leadership. In the decades following, the city earned a reputation as "too busy to hate" for the relatively progressive views of its citizens and leaders compared to other cities in the "Deep South". During the modern era, Atlanta has attained international prominence as a major air transportation hub, with Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport being by far the world's busiest airport since 1998.
Atlanta is rated a "beta(+)" world city that exerts a moderate impact on global commerce, finance, research, technology, education, media, art, and entertainment. It ranks 18th among world cities and 7th in the nation with a gross domestic product of $320 billion. Atlanta's economy is considered diverse, with dominant sectors that include logistics, professional and business services, media operations, and information technology. Atlanta has topographic features that include rolling hills and dense tree coverage, earning it the nickname of "the city in a forest." Revitalization of Atlanta's neighborhoods, initially spurred by the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, has intensified in the 21st century, altering the city's demographics, politics, and culture.

Joaquin became a tropical storm Monday evening (EDT) midway between the Bahamas and Bermuda and has now formed into a hurricane, the 3rd of the season--the difference is Joaquin could impact the US East Coast.
GPM captured Joaquin Tuesday, September 29th at 21:39 UTC (5:39 pm EDT) as the hurricane moved slowly towards the west-southwest about 400 miles east of the northwestern Bahamas. At the time, Joaquin had been battling northerly wind shear, which was impeding the storm's ability to strengthen. However, compared to earlier in the day, the system was beginning to gain the upper hand as the shear began to relax its grip. At the time of this data visualization, Joaquin's low-level center of circulation was located further within the cloud shield, and the rain area was beginning to wrap farther around the center on the eastern side of the storm while showing signs of increased banding and curvature, a sure sign that Joaquin's circulation was intensifying. GPM shows a large area of very intense rain with rain rates ranging from around 50 to 132 mm/hr (~2 to 5 inches, shown in red and
magenta) just to the right of the center. This is a strong indication that large amounts of heat are being released into the storm's center, fueling its circulation and providing the means for its intensification. Associated with the area of intense rain is an area of tall convective towers, known as a convective burst, with tops reaching up to 16.3 km (shown in orange). These towers when located near the storm's core are a strong indication that the storm is poised to strengthen as they too reveal the release of heat into the storm.
At the time this data was taken, the National Hurricane Center reported that Joaquin's maximum sustained winds had increased to 65 mph from 40 mph earlier in the day, making Joaquin a strong tropical storm but poised to become a hurricane, which occurred this morning at 8:00 am EDT. With the inhibiting wind shear expected to continue to diminish and the system moving over warm waters, the National Hurricane Center is forecasting Joaquin to intensify further, possibly into a major hurricane within the next few days.

There have been some great sunsets this week. Colours really intensify after the sun goes down...and then all of a sudden disappear. I like this old tree - it forms a nice anchor point for the sky. 10-22mm wide angle on for this shot and right out at 10mm to get as much sky in as possible.

This, I am proud to say, is my daughter. I am not usually keen on publishing photos of my children on the Net, but I loved this shot as a photograph and I hope you all like it as well. This is her 'PLEASE don't take my picture anymore' face.
[I]t’s the subject matter that counts. I’m interested in revealing the subject in a new way to intensify it. A photo is able to capture a moment that people can’t always see.

The last Butterfly catch of the season.
“Monarch butterflies are astonishing creatures undertaking one of the most epic migrations in the animal kingdom. Beginning around October, they fly from central and northern U.S. states and parts of Canada to Mexico and the coast of California, where they form dense clusters high up in the trees and hunker down for the winter months….. The monarch butterfly is one of the most recognizable species in North America and it’s in trouble. Habitat loss and fragmentation has occurred throughout the monarch’s range. Pesticide use can destroy the milkweed monarchs need to survive. A changing climate has intensified weather events which may impact monarch populations. Numbers of monarchs have decreased significantly over the last 20 years.”

Same shot as previous, but I did NOT intensify this negative - opting to leave it as it was after processing. I think this negative would be more suited to contact printing on silver gelatin, whereas the intensified one is likely going to print well on albumen paper. (Or salt paper). You can see in this version there is better separation of subtle highlight values.
I'm amazed how lovely these Collodion-on-glass negatives are!
Vincenzo Campi (1536-1591) - Fruit Seller
c. 1580
Oil on canvas, 145 x 215 cm
The intensification of agriculture from the early 16th century onwards was accompanied by the promotion of the botanical sciences. These new insights then influenced the 'pater familias' literature, which also included advice on the improvement of fruit farming. It is worth noting that early market, kitchen and pantry paintings (e.g. by Joachim Beuckelaer, Frans Snyders and Adriaen van Utrecht) displayed not only vegetables piled up in baskets, but also fruits of all kinds, bulging out over the edge of the plate. Fruit included everything that grew on trees, such as apples, pears, nuts, cherries, plums, peaches, apricots, quinces, chestnuts, etc., as well as shrub fruit, such as blackberries, raspberries and currants. Fruit was always one of the last courses in a banquet. In the cuisine of the landed gentry and the merchant classes, great emphasis was therefore placed o the more refined fruits: wild fruit from the woods, fields and meadows were considered inferior, as they were smaller and had less taste. Every larger household therefore had an orchard that was laid out and cultivated according to the latest knowledge, where summer and winter fruits were grown that had to be frost-resistant and suitable for longer storage. Similar to nowadays, people valued firmness and a rich, juicy consistency, brought about by hybridization and special methods of cultivation. In earlier still-lifes the different fruits were still neatly separated, and depicted either as market products or freshly harvested and straight from the trees or shrubs, as in Vincenzo Campi's paintings. Later, the motif of the market or pantry with its emphasis on variety was increasingly given up in favour of isolated fruit baskets where different fruits were put together like flower arrangements. One of the first example is Caravaggio's Fruit Basket from about 1596.
