in the morning I felt clearly that the dying body is really nothing but an outer shell, almost like a set of clothes, having absolutely nothing to do with what the essence of the person is, and that this essence is really shared by all, but on behalf of our beliefs and upbringing we identify with the body and the mind. Really what you find in another is truly you, the I, the Self. Give to another and you give to yourself, - take a way from another and you take away from yourself...

Based on the Honda J-VX concept car unveiled at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show, the Insight was introduced in Japan in November 1999 as the first production vehicle to feature Honda's Integrated Motor Assist system. In the following month, December 1999, Insight became the first hybrid available in North America, followed seven months later by the Toyota Prius.

Nightjar wet from a light drizzle. Captured at ISO6400 with the latest Nikon Z 7II, the details from this new mirrorless is just incredible.

This shot was with a Nikkor TC-17 EII teleconverter attached to the Nikkor 500mm PF to get 850mm focal length....... I'm absolutely sure that the TC had impacted the quality slightly as this very old 1.7TC was not known for its IQ or AF performance.

On 5 May 2018, ESA's 35 m-diameter deep-space radio dish at New Norcia, Western Australia, monitored NASA’s InSight spacecraft providing critical tracking support during launch and early operations on its journey to Mars.
ESA’s New Norcia station maintained contact with InSight and its two MarCOs CubeSats as backup to NASA’s own Deep Space Network ground station at Canberra, on the easterly side of the continent.
“NASA requested our support because, at this time of year, the southern hemisphere has very good visibility of the trajectory to Mars,” explained Daniel Firre, the Agency’s ESA-NASA cross-support service manager.
“This meant our Australia station was ideally located to provide back-up support to their DSN station at Canberra.”
New Norcia will also be involved in monitoring Insight’s Mars touchdown on 26 November.
ESA’s deep-space station at Malargüe, Argentina, also in the southern hemisphere, worked in coordination with New Norcia to provide additional tracking coverage on launch day.
Since inauguration in March 2003, New Norcia station has been used for communications with Mars Express, Rosetta, Venus Express and Gaia, among other ESA and partner agency missions.

When I look quizzically into the fire what do I see ?
Events of my life, past, present and future all glowing warmly towards me
After spotting the storage cars, the only other work the LBU53X crew had on the Jefferson Branch was to spot two covered hoppers here at the Insight Coop on the north side of Jefferson. The crew has just completed that task and is slowly rolling back towards the main line. After restoring the switch, the crew on the UP 1480 and 1024 will head for Clyman Junction and eventually back to Butler. Usually a view of this place would be difficult because of trees, but it's a place where the drone was super helpful. Despite the side light, I thought it was still worth a shot of the neat facility.
Shoot of a mango.

It has been pointed out to me recently (on a couple of occasions…!) that I don’t ever acknowledge or say thank you for the compliments I receive on my posts. And it got me thinking…
I would hope that people realise it would be futile for me to acknowledge each and every comment I receive. And hopefully it is accepted that this is a two-way thing; my recognition of the comments is to continue to post and share my story. Ultimately, as I believe I have stated before, my reason for using this forum has changed in recent years; it is wonderful to learn that so many of you draw inspiration from my journey, and I am happy to continue providing an (honest) insight into my world.
That said, it is maybe rather poor of me to not say the occasional communal ‘Thank You’ every once in a while, particularly to acknowledge those of you who clearly take time to craft a heartfelt comment or relate my experience to their own.
And so, to put right that wrong, a BIG THANK YOU to you all.
I’ll keep sharing if you keep commenting (hopefully positively!). And I’ll even try to remember to acknowledge y’all every so often. How does that sound?
Cheers everybody
