Cuenca. España.
Ischnura elegans, ♂
In the Talayuelas Lagoon we start this QDD Blauverd in the Serranía de Cuenca. This male of Ischnura elegans was one of the first ones I photographed, he let me get closer. I also saw youngsters of Sympetrum fonscolombii, of Crocothemis erythraea, but these were very elusive.
Photographed in the Talayuelas Lagoon. Cuenca. Spain.
A flash of blue and green on the pond as male and female Damselflies carry out their courtship. Shot with a 300mm telephoto lens as I couldn’t get close enough with my 105mm macro.
In Explore with many thanks for comments and faves.

Hormiga Isaú (Atta vollenweideri)?
Rocha, Uruguay
Cuenca. España.
Calopteryx virgo, ♂
A brief encounter with this species on the edges of the river, whose waters ran fast in the shade of the trees and made the plants of the banks on which the few Calopteryx virgo males settled. Complicated was to take a decent half shot, but he enjoyed his green and blue metallic tones.
Photographed in: Río Mayor del Molinillo. Cañete. Cuenca. Spain.
Nymph of Conehead mantis female found in a small wasteland near the marls in the Diois. It has been several years that I regularly frequent the small valley of Chapias and it is nevertheless my first encounter with this species.
