Bergzikade im Gesäuse

This mountain cicada was shot in Gesäuse national park in Austrian region Styria. The picture is an in-camera-focus-stack SOOC - I like my Olympus.

Female Seaside Dragonlet?

© C. Statton DiFiori

I found this little guy perched on some grass along a slow moving stream. I was lucky enough to see him in action as he swooped out to catch his prey and return briefly before flying off.

Dallas Fanning Nature Preserve May 2023

Came across this last May while at Deception Pass State Park.

Should have put it up then.

No I didnt kill it, I let it out of the window :o)

From moth trap, my garden, North Lincolnshire

Ferocious beast with warts and spines making it less likely to be eaten. They moult four times and then pupate before emerging as an adult ladybird.

Lift up your candle dress

Unweave your nylon spine

In velvet and in onions

You will soon be mine

I am your humble servant

Madam as you see

Tonight I am determined

You will lie along with me

You are an insect mother

With a black shiny head

That parts your cloak to open

Human you upon the bed

You are an insect mother

I your jammy son

And now we've found each other

There is nowhere else to run

Lift up your candle dress

Unweave your nylon spine

In velvet and in onions

You will soon be mine

Damselfly - Cleethorpes.

This dragonfly was on high alert for his arch enemy!

Comma butterfly spent quite a bit of time in the garden, before fluttering onto my little finger! A little pause I didn't mind holding a while longer! I almost forgot it was Wednesday (all these spider images floating around) HWW Hope it's a good one for you all ;0)
