I've long admired thistle plants and was stunned to find this iridescent flying insect atop the pink flower blossom. What a colorful treat!

Il riposo è importantissimo per gli organismi viventi. Piante e animali ne fruiscono in relazione al fotoperiodo, con i "nutturni" che riposano durante il giorno e viceversa. L'atteggiamento di riposo, tuttavia, costituisce una potenziale fase di rischio nella vita quotidiana degli animali. Durante il riposo essi sono infatti esposti alle insidie dei predatori.
