experimenting with macro

My garage aka studio has been torn apart for the past few months. It's finally back in working order. I figure I'd take a few snaps since this is one of the only times it'll be clean ... time to mess things up and make some stuff.

influenced by Florian Nicolle, an artist working with portraits and ink, I experimented using ink to distort the face. Water has become one of my favourite materials during the last few months because it can change an image completely when mixed with the right materials, for example the way it help to tone ink, especially in this photo, the water helped dilute the colouring causing shade and tone where I wanted it to.

Inking the nose - then we quickly had to press an index card on the nose to capture the print before the cow licked the ink off!
