"The palest ink is better than the best memory."
--Chinese Probverb
One of the many fountain pens I use to write in my journals.
This is something I did for and with the help of my mother. She always liked my first Ink Cosmos that I took some years ago. So we did this one together. She was a great assistant.
This was intended to be subtle white flowers with a bright background ... like the photo at farm4.static.flickr.com/3085/2354244189_3b3f588454_b.jpg BUT in taking the masking off the flower on the bottom right the paper tore (.. and it was an Arches block!) So ... I went CRAZY with the watercolor pencils, Inktense pencils and ink to salvage it. What do YOU do in these instances .. walk away happy to be alive or apply CPR?
Just doing this on occasion to share the difference in fountain pen ink over time.

I spent about an hour playing with milk, ink and oil and that's the best i could get. I need a bigger cup and an eyedropper.
Materials: dip pen & Diamine Steel Blue on the inside of the cover of a Stillman and Birn, Zeta sketchbook.
Notes: ...what a great surface to work on. I tend to rip these books apart and discard the covers. Never again!
Ink, Blink and Yoda came to us skittish and scared from Animal Control. They had been tearfully surrendered by a man whose landlord had threatened to evict him; as owner surrenders they were on borrowed time from the moment they arrived at AC. Within 24 hours we picked them up. Yoda had characteristically siamese coloring, but was the most shy. Ink and Blink were pitch black, impossible to tell apart, and chatty. They took a shine to an overturned diaper box; it had a slit in the back that they could see out of. We put towels in it, and would often find them there napping together. July, 2015
