In this series I match each Rorschach inkblot card with the first
image that comes to mind in my image archive.
The coat and scarf are sculpted out of Procreate. The smiley pin is a cut Lego bar. The inkblot actually changes. I used thermochromic paint mixed with mod pudge.

I am not sure if this looks better in my PC with a better monitor. i increased the saturation and sharpened it a bit. I just tried picasa function of flickr.

Ten years ago I dreamed a dream about two people. I remember every sense in the dream: the dust in the carpet they sat on, holding one another; the staticky, sticky feel and smell in the air from the sick one’s breath, the blueness of open irises; the silence filling their ears. The humidity. The weight of the air on their skin, close like water. Every color in the dream was tinged with sadness, with the knowledge of looming loss. The healthy one cried. The sick one was not just sick. He was dying.
When I woke up I wrote their story out endlessly, for years, in variations and settings and time frames, until I could nearly touch both of them when I reached my hands out in my sleep, until they were more like flesh than figments of my mind. I wrote them until I knew what they’d see in inkblots, what they bought at the grocery store, how they handled running late, which kinds of liquor each liked. The absoluteness of loneliness I’d felt for eighteen years before I had the dream left me, because after the dream, they were always with me.
But the sick one, in particular, has leapt from between the two-dimensional lines of his life spelled out in ink on paper and words on a screen and become something different. In some ways, we have become one person. Which may seem odd, because from outside, I’ve always been one person. But within me, there is me, and there is this other human who showed up ten years ago, who climbed out of my subconscious and got so entangled and intertwined in my psyche that I’ve lost entire personality traits and blocks of memory to him—and gained his. Sometimes I try to remind myself that memories I thought were mine are aspects of an imagined character, no more than words on paper. But even in my most rational moments I can’t make myself believe he isn’t real. I forget which things I’ve lived, which things this dreamed-up, living-inside-me other soul has lived.
We share the same body, but I get to control it.
Mostly.
There are days when he takes over. And nights.

Believe it or not, unlike the previous Aliwan Fiesta in 2008, I was only able to take a few good photos, because:
1. I had to attend to something more imporatent than Aliwan, hence I arrived late.
2. The poor lighting and the bastusan in the parade allowed me to shoot only elbows, eyes, chins, hair, heads and faces of fellow photographers!
But nonetheless, I want to share these few photos with you.
Before I booked for a flight, I had my reservations scheduling my flight back to Manila from Davao, because it meant harder to get a taxicab going home, ergo, going home late. The 4:40 PM flight is notorious for its late departure (sometimes extending up to 7PM). I was supposed to be booked at 6:00 PM flight, but I settled for for the 4:40 PM because I wanted to catch the Indios last day of exhibit. When I checked in, I chose the window seat because of a "project" I wanted to put up in my stream. When I boarded, I was surprised to see an old woman sitting on my assigned seat. But then, I gave in so I sat next to her instead. I still had a good view, after all. All I wanted was to shoot the sunset while on flight.
It was after one or two minutes after take off when I saw this spectacular view of the highest peak in the Philippines.
I think I was rewarded for being kind to the old woman who also wanted to take a look at the aerial view!

Bright Spot to Inkblot One Shot from Light Grey Day to Deep Shadow Display.
As usual I have found a scene to focus attention on. This stairway is probably not the focus of much attention, but for many I think that I am giving too much attention to one image. The stairway here is now set out from light to dark both with colour and without so offering bright light to dark shadow in Bright Spot to Inkblot One Shot.
An amazing house preserved from the past and still a part of now standing tall and proud with a rebuild. The shape and size of any broch is dictated by the need for it and the ability of the builders. Here there appears to have been an amazing development made for strength and for beauty. Once the tower rose into sky and released the smoking signs of life, now the bright preserved ruin remains as a celebration of earlier ways of living.

The Rorschach test is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation, complex algorithms, or both.
Some psychologists use this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning. It has been employed to detect underlying thought disorder, especially in cases where patients are reluctant to describe their thinking processes openly.
The test is named after its creator, Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach. In the 1960s, the Rorschach was the most widely used projective test.
Although the Exner Scoring System (developed since the 1960s) claims to have addressed and often refuted many criticisms of the original testing system with an extensive body of research, some researchers continue to raise questions.
The areas of dispute include the objectivity of testers, inter-rater reliability, the verifiability and general validity of the test, bias of the test's pathology scales towards greater numbers of responses, the limited number of psychological conditions which it accurately diagnoses, the inability to replicate the test's norms, its use in court-ordered evaluations, and the proliferation of the ten inkblot images, potentially invalidating the test for those who have been exposed to them.

Tattoo ink on paper, trying out colors, decided to put two pieces of paper together after I was done testing colors and make an ink blot. Then I HDR filtered it and faded out the shadows.
Turns out there is a lot of fun shapes in this one! Fun way to reuse my color testing with my tattoo inks.

Distributed throughout the Philippines and is easily the most common hawk in the Philipines. They prefer to stay near towns and settled areas, near the sea or the banks and mouths of rivers, usually perched on high tree stumps. The Aliwan Fever is over. LIkewise, the month of Fiesta is coming to and end, so I am posting my Aliwan Photos. Also, I wanted to join the photo contest but my time did not permit me to do it. Besides, the rule said entry photos must be during the competition. I did not have a photo on the competition proper because I ran out of battery. I did not have a flash. Ergo, I did not have a valid entry. I thought these last photos of Aliwan which I am posting now would suffice, but I decided not to enter these into the competition.
Lesson learned: I must prepare for the next Aliwan in 2009!
