Found some little figurine collections of my sister and I thought of making them my subjects. Shot in my Mom's veranda, with the bougainvillea leaves on the background that gave it great bokeh.
This lighthouse was currently restored, sitting beside Lake Erie, is Port Clinton’s second. Constructed in 1896 at the end of the city’s West Pier at the Portage River entrance, the twenty-six foot structure remained active for more than thirty years. The first keeper was Robert Waterfield, who had been the last keeper of the old stone lighthouse. This new light, housed atop a 12’ x 12’ square sided pyramidal wooden structure, consisted of a 180- degree, curved, clear glass lens with horizontal ridges. A single kerosene lantern with a ruby chimney provided a steady red light visible for six miles. The intensity was doubled to 100 candlepower some years later.
Not sure if it was the sun angle ... but the thermal pool of water here was black below ... very eerie.
A new path to tread?....I am still praying and hoping for the best...

Like a Rorschach inkblot, the water surface leaves interesting patterns to analyze Or, perhaps just an attempt to find harmony in chaos.
"What do you see in this image?" asked the psychiatrist. The grizzled patient took off his glasses and nearly touched his eye to the image as he considered it. "Well," said the patient, "I see the mind of God!"
It is interesting what we see and photography. This image was from an aurora that was the result of a coronal mass ejection that hit earth last night. You can see the Big Dipper constellation in the image near the left center.

I love writing with the fountain pen. This works best with the royal blue ink. I like the feeling when the tip glides over the paper so smoothly. That's why I sometimes write something down that I could conveniently type in right away. But it's not always about the practical ;-)

Ich schreibe furchtbar gern mit dem Füllfederhalter. Das geht mit der königsblauen Tinte am besten. Ich mag das Gefühl, wenn die Spitze so fein und glatt über das Papier gleitet. The Rorschach test also known as the Rorschach inkblot test, the Rorschach technique, or simply the inkblot test) is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation, complex algorithms, or both.
Some psychologists use this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning. It has been employed to detect underlying thought disorder, especially in cases where patients are reluctant to describe their thinking processes openly.[4] The test is named after its creator, Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach.
National Dog Day has come and gone but I got a couple of shots of Rorschach outside playing and posing. I've been off a bit with vacation and travel. Bright Spot to Inkblot One Shot from Light Grey Day to Deep Shadow Display.
As usual I have found a scene to focus attention on. This stairway is probably not the focus of much attention, but for many I think that I am giving too much attention to one image. The stairway here is now set out from light to dark both with colour and without so offering bright light to dark shadow in Bright Spot to Inkblot One Shot.
An amazing house preserved from the past and still a part of now standing tall and proud with a rebuild. The shape and size of any broch is dictated by the need for it and the ability of the builders. Here there appears to have been an amazing development made for strength and for beauty. Once the tower rose into sky and released the smoking signs of life, now the bright preserved ruin remains as a celebration of earlier ways of living.

On a winter's day when there was hardly a stir in the air, the Tamar River was always going to provide some fine reflections. In this case my eye is attracted past the red berries to the blue inkblot reflections of the hills.

A tiny island at the far north-eastern tip of Loch Awe. Taken early in the morning back in January.
The morning mist had bled almost all the contrast and colour from the landscape, so the dark, 'Rorschach inkblot' shape of the island and its trees made it stand out against the background.

This is a photograph of smoke (created from a burning incense stick) shot against a black background ; illuminated by a single off-camera flash. The real challenge involved looking at the resulting photos as if they are Rorschach inkblots and trying to imagine some kind of familiar form. In this one the curled tube of smoke resembled to me a saxophone horn. In Photoshop I cleaned up some of the distracting extraneous smoke trails and used the liquefy tool to sculpt a more realistic human head.
