This is my young 14 year old cousin Sarai, she is a great kid and is an aspiring singer/model. She is a beautiful young lady but god does she give me headaches sometimes...lol. She hangs out with us a lot and has since she was a little baby, she is like a younger sister to me and I want the best for her. She is currently going "boy crazy" and I have to bring her down to earth all the time. I am always worried about her decisions that she makes, but I know she is a good kid and deep down inside she will make the right decisions. I hope that she just learns to enjoy her age and her friends and realize that now is not the time for boys, dates, etc.

With solid info in hand that 99 empty cars for storage were due into Holbrook by the BNSF and the Apache was running an extra day to haul them in, the plan was cast for the day. The BNSF delivery was made late in the morning, while the Apache had to shuffle cars out by what's left of the papermill to accommodate the train. After 2 1/2 hours to put the train together, inspect it, and air test it, they hit the road.
At a blistering pace of 20mph, the 3 ALCo's were barking pretty good as they came into view from Snowflake Jct. In a view not seen since the end of the Blue Looper back in 2012, the curves are full with cars and loco's as they make their way to the yard.
Through talking to the engineer after he was off for the evening, he related that they were 500 tons from being maxed out on the power and he had no room to play with the throttle like he usually does for pictures.

it's tacky, but in a nice way.
This is one of these photos that i love, but really don't know why.
Maybe because it's so odd.
There was this cloud the other day, the lightning within it was never ending. So i thought i would take a couple shot.
After a half hour of trying every available technique to create a pleasing shot of the lightning in the clouds...i didn't succeed.
And the mosquitoes ate me up. [i forgot the holy buy spray this time round]
So i though that since i anyways have my flash along[from taking photos of combines-threshing, but none turned out] that i would try some odd photos. Like something that is not beautiful, in the traditional sense..of beautiful light. But rather a [tacky] type of photo.
So i let out my inner ghost [with the help of a 430exll flash]

I finally.....finally got the canon 55-250 lens, that i bought from eBay.
And get this.....
2 whole months after ordering and paying for it!!
But i love eBay in that sense....the seller has never gotten more negative feedback...[guiltily chuckling]
so i'll be shooting like crazy again.

And again..on a different note:
Back at the start of june i shot a wedding. And i thought the photos were average..
But i still cannot believe how much positive feedback i am getting...people saying there isn't a bad one in the whole collection.
Hearing people speak of my work like that keeps my spirits up...

I baught a canon 430exll from ebay because it was cheap.
I took the flash and placed it about a foot and a half behind me [on a bench] and had it pointed towards me, facing upwards. I had a wireless receiver connected to it [more on that later]
I then sat down and and looked to the top left of the camera and pressed my wireless trigger for the camera. The camera then took a photo, and [magically] in the same instant my flash gave out a pulse of light that was as bright as it could muster [full power,1/1] The flash filtered though my shirt and reflected a little on the front of me.
TRIGGERED WITH A WIRELESS TRIGGER..doh. It's product number 180402821206 on ebay, and it's called a [Wireless Flash Transmitter PT-04 4Channel Flash Trigger]
The Signal was then sent wirelessly to product number 150358219389 on eBay, called [Wireless Flash Receiver PT-04 4-Channel Flash Trigger]
I bought both of them separately from a store called [hkyongnuophotoequipment] because it had a 99.9 feedback rating.

The background plates for this image were taken on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago during Hurricane Sandy. The waves were so intense that I was almost knocked down several times just trying to capture them. Not to mention that this was at 5:30 in the morning and that I had to cross a police barrier just to get the opportunity. It was freezing, and I was completely soaked after just minutes but it made for an amazing and one of a kind background.
The Mermaid was photographed in our Chicago studio, using strobes to match the lighting from the background. We set black seamless paper on the floor to mimic the shine of the ground, and set up a giant 86" paabolic reflector behind the subject.
Once hair and makeup were done it was time for our mermaid to get into the scene. Because there was no wave in the studio, we set up a v-flat as a barrier, and I stood where the wave was and splashed water onto our mermaid. Her legs were bound so as not no separate and she was propping herself on an apple box to mimic the rock. It was an amazing photo shoot and an amazing day.
Afterwords we photographed several fish including salmon, trout, and a beta. The beta won out for the best tail, and with a bit of Photoshop everything came together to create what you see here.
