I used to see Reminisce's work everywhere in SF in the early 90's and she had a big influence on getting me into graffiti along with the work of TWIST.
Antwerp, Estación Central.
(...) Towards the end of the nineteenth century, Austerlitz began, in reply to my questions about the history of the building of Antwerp station, when Belgium, a little patch of yellowish gray barely visible on the map of the world, spread its sphere of influence to the African continent with its colonial enterprises, when deals of huge proportions were done on the capital markets and raw-materials exchanges of Brussels, and the citizens of Belgium, full of boundless optimism, believed that their country, which had been subject so long to foreign rule and was divided and disunited in itself, was about to become a great new economic power—at that time, now so long ago although it determines our lives to this day, it was the personal wish of King Leopold, under whose auspices such apparently inexorable progress was being made, that the money suddenly and abundantly available should be used to erect public buildings which would bring international renown to his aspiring state. One of the projects thus initiated by the highest authority in the land was the central station of the Flemish metropolis, where we were sitting now, said Austerlitz; designed by Louis Delacenserie, it was inaugurated in the summer of 1905, after ten years of planning and building, in the presence of the King himself.
Delacenserie's eclecticism, uniting past and future in the Centraal Station with its marble stairway in the foyer and the steel and glass roof spanning the platforms, was in fact a logical stylistic approach to the new epoch, said Austerlitz, and it was also appropriate, he continued, that in Antwerp Station the elevated level from which the gods looked down on visitors to the Roman Pantheon should display, in hierarchical order, the deities of the nineteenth century—mining, industry, transport, trade, and capital. For halfway up the walls of the entrance hall, as I must have noticed, there were stone escutcheons bearing symbolic sheaves of corn, crossed hammers, winged wheels, and so on, with the heraldic motif of the beehive standing not, as one might at first think, for nature made serviceable to mankind, or even industrious labor as a social good, but symbolizing the principle of capital accumulation.
And Time, said Austerlitz, represented by the hands and dial of the clock, reigns supreme among these emblems. The clock is placed above the only baroque element in the entire ensemble, the cruciform stairway which leads from the foyer to the platforms, just where the image of the emperor stood in the Pantheon in a line directly prolonged from the portal; as governor of a new omnipotence it was set even above the royal coat of arms and the motto Endracht maakt macht. The movements of all travelers could be surveyed from the central position occupied by the clock in Antwerp Station, and conversely all travelers had to look up at the clock and were obliged to adjust their (...)

Along our 1.5 km long beach Mawella there are probably half a dozen small resorts, boutique hotels or private accommodation. I estimate that now in the high season a total of about 40 people spend their holidays here. Since the beach is located to the south, it can hardly be enjoyed during the day. But early in the morning, around sunrise and early evening, there are always a few people frolicking on the beach. It's always interesting for me to see how differently people use the beach. People know and greet each other, especially long-term residents. Some only appear briefly and can hardly believe the silence, the peace and the direct nature. Here's an obvious influencer setting up her mobile phone on a tripod and then standing in front of the camera in the water to produce a short sequence.

Anyone who has done a road trip around March or November in South Africa has witnessed the explosion of pink and white flowers on the side of the road! This pink and white countryside landscape drawing is very familiar to many South Africans.
Painting cosmos flowers in watercolour was one of my Grans favorite subjects and has always been a familiar sight in my house. Paintings of the famous pink and white flowers in landscapes or flower arrangements were scattered around the house. So, of course that influenced and inspired me to draw cosmos flowers in my own style.

This is my favorite look, because she is perfectly imperfect. The head is beautiful but the nose has got somewhat of an angle to it, not that perfect button nose look. Deetalez is just, well, Deetalez. There is a subtle texture to the skin, not just glassy flawless skin. The freckles and moles are a nice natural touch that will separate yourself from others on the grid. Through my years in SL, i've came to appreciate the imperfections in my many different looks. These creators above have helped me with my creation.

Day 3 of 20 of albums that influenced my musical tastes.
I would like to dedicate this photo to one of my first and true friends here in Flickr. I've met Ian Sane

Sadly, Levi has crossed the rainbow on recent days.
Day 3 of 20 of albums that influenced my musical tastes.
Let It Be is the twelfth and final studio album by The Beatles. It was released on 8 May 1970, nearly a month following the official announcement of the group's public break-up. Concerned about recent friction within the band, Paul McCartney had conceived the project as an attempt to reinvigorate the group by returning to simpler rock 'n' roll configurations. McCartney said he had the idea of the song "Let It Be" after he had a dream about his mother during the tense period surrounding the sessions for The White Album in 1968. Mary Patricia McCartney died of cancer in 1956, when he was fourteen. McCartney later said: "It was great to visit with her again. I felt very blessed to have that dream. So that got me writing 'Let It Be'." In a later interview, he said about the dream that his mother had told him, "It will be all right, just let it be." (from Wikipedia)
This is maybe my 2nd or 3rd favorite Beatles album, but I remember that I listened a lot at home when I was a child. I love its raw sound, without all the orchestral and experimental sounds, setting the basis for the 70s and 80s rock music.

Excerpt from “A Short Walking Tour of the Yates Street Heritage District”:
35 Yates Street was built in 1928 for Arthur Bate by prominent local architects Arthur Nicholson and Robert Macbeth. It remained in the Bate family until 1954 when it was sold to the present owners. It is a very distinct house displaying Spanish Colonial influences. These include its clay tiled roof and very irregular window placement.

The incredible conditions on Sunday continued as we reached the top. Brilliant rime formations on the rocks on the summit of Cruach Ardrain in Stirlingshire, Scotland and incredible "god rays" striking the hills to the south made it hard to put the camera away despite the strong, cold winds. It's days like this in the Scottish hills that make up for all the other, less enjoyable ones when Scotland's weather doesn't play ball.

From Wikipedia, "The neo-Gothic building was designed by the Irish architects Thomas Newenham Deane and Benjamin Woodward, mostly Woodward. The museum's design was directly influenced by the writings of critic John Ruskin, who involved himself by making various suggestions to Woodward during construction. Construction by Lucas Brothers began in 1855, and the building was ready for occupancy in 1860.
The adjoining building that houses the Pitt Rivers Museum was the work of Thomas Manly Deane, son of Thomas Newenham Deane. It was built between 1885 and 1886.
The museum consists of a large square court with a glass roof, supported by cast iron pillars, which divide the court into three aisles. Cloistered arcades run around the ground and first floor of the building, with stone columns each made from a different British stone, selected by geologist John Phillips (the Keeper of the Museum). The ornamentation of the stonework and iron pillars incorporates natural forms such as leaves and branches, combining the Pre-Raphaelite style with the scientific role of the building."
