Power lines border this rural road along the San Mateo County coast adding to the lonely feel. I've always felt the best way between two points on the map is to use the road less traveled. I think this lonesome road qualifies. Loneliness can have a powerful influence on the creation of art. I never turn my back on a brooding scene.

Usually, we hear music in the operating room during surgery. It has been proved that music at the optimal volume can enhance performance during surgery.
When I was a resident (early 2000) I remember that I listened for the first time the chill-out music subgenre. It was so cool. One day I was listening to a Ministry of Sound chill out compilation and a particular song stood out, it was No Ordinary Morning by an until then unknown artist, Chicane. I love the mood, the rhythm, the music. After that, I looked up for his music, and I wasn't disappointed, Their first two albums were amazing, a combination of electronic beats, combined with ambient and trance, some with beautiful voices. I recommend you that you listen some of his music.

The Palacete Seixas, also known as Quinta de Santa Clara, is a historic mansion located in Cascais, Portugal. It was built in the late 19th century by a wealthy Portuguese businessman named António Martins da Silva. The property has gone through several ownership changes over the years and it’s currently owned by the municipality of Cascais. The building showcases an eclectic architectural style with influences from Gothic, Arabic and Manueline designs.
I've caught a bad cold, and haven't been able to smell anything for over a week. So, on the bright side, it doesn't bother me at all if Heidi brings her stinky new toy containing valerian root inside. However, I'll have to kick it out about a week before I get any visitors with fully functioning noses and olfactory nerves... ;-)

The scene was backlit by a [pro]master VL1144 steady studio light through a 24" x 24" soft box, with a colorful translucent background placed in front of it. A single Nikon SB900 speedlight, fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄64 power through a Neewer 24" x 24" soft box, was placed at 4:00 for fill.
The speedlight was triggered by two PocketWizard Plus X flash triggers.
